I was rewatching LSU vs Arkansas Game 1. There are a few keys to this game. The Kade vs Root matchup was delayed, and the box wasn't as lively. Hopefully, our fans bring the energy in Omaha. Here's my intensive analysis
Few keys:
1. We need to slow Root down. When he gets into a rhythm, he's unstoppable, especially with this hit-or-miss offense. We had too many 1-2-3 innings in the first matchup this year.
2. We need to capitalize. Frey got tagged out at home on a squeeze bunt. These risks must pay off in Omaha.
3. Kade needs to settle into the innings quicker. All of their scoring innings started with base hits or even homers. If Kade can get dialed, I think we have a good shot.
4. Kade left the game after 5 2/3 due to injury. If he can get us 7 innings, I think it's Casan time, depending on the score.
5. Too many damn strikeouts.
6. Aggressive baserunning. It paid off in sending Milam from 2nd on a single by Curiel.
7. Relievers need to show up. Shores and Cowan combined for 4 hits and 1 earned run over 4.1 innings.
Lastly, I know Cowan has been ice cold, but in this game with the bases loaded with 2 outs in the top of the 10th, he grabbed his nuts and got a monumental strikeout.
This game reminds me of the 2023 Wake Forest game. We can get it done, but only if every gear is turning. Let's ride.

You’re a genius. To summarize your keys:
1) don’t get out
2) get them out

Base hits base hits base hits. Its a big ballpark and this team doesn't have the power to swing for the fences like we did in 2023. Sacrifice bunts are essential to get runners into scoring position, and I'm not opposed to the squeeze if we can execute it. Hopefully, Jay's been making them practice.

More runs. That is the key.

7 key points and not once did you mention us scoring more runs than them.

That is the entire point of any sporting event. Baseball is a very complicated game and I was giving my intel on how we CAN score more runs than them.

I'll add that Pearson and Jones had rough nights.
Anderson wasn't his sharpest but really battled all night
And Frey was raking

It may also help if we end up scoring more runs than they do. Just a thought

The key to winning in Omaha in the field is don't walk anyone and make the routine plays. On offense it is limit strikeouts, take walks, and get some timely hits. All 8 teams have the potential to do these things are win it all.

Small ball will be important and I doubt Arkansas hits many homers in Omaha. They had two homers this past week with a 87 degree ball speed, that ain’t going to do it with wind blowing in at Omaha.

Work the clock on every pitch. It’s that simple. Make him uncomfortable. Be patient and Shrink the strike zone when possible. Foul of off what you can instead of taking close pitches. He won’t miss the zone much , especially early. Working the clock and foul balls in the first 3-4 innings will pay off.

Why be like this? He gave a reasonable recap of the game.
