I ushered during the Dalton and James gang days.

My parents were season ticket holders back then, so I was at every home game that season...we also lost to Bama 3-0 at home. That '79 team was better than the 7-5 final record.

I was 9 and remember it like it was yesterday and been to countless games since then and to this day no game in TS has come close to that one…

Ticket demand for that USC game was unreal. We had 4 season tickets, but 8-9 people drive to the game from Nola. Naturally, being a 13 year old kid, I had to hustle my own ticket...I was about to give up and then my mom found 1 ticket in the ladies restroom and gave it to me.

I was a junior in high school been to so many of the greatest games in Tiger Stadium nothing compares to this game! Crowd stood the whole time in the light drizzle. The atmosphere before and during this game was hard to describe.

Really to bad this game is not in Tiger stadium. I would love to go to USC/ LSU Tiger Stadium Part 2!

I was working back room at Wendys on Causeway in Metairie. I had the game on the radio, and the crowd noise was insane!

I was a junior in high school. It was a great game and just as electric as people say it was. Even after the phantom facemask call that gave USC the game.

I was stationed in Biloxi in the AF. Drove over with a friend, mom had tickets in the West upper. Unbelievable the sound from below. It was electric I tell ya.

Tiger Rag Article about Game
I was 16 years old and there. Never seen anything like it and probably never will. Been a season ticket holder for years and seen some loud games. This one was unbelievable. Just different times with no cell phones and cable TV. Game was not televised because USC could not be televised more than 5 times.

I was 17 and it was the greatest game ever played in that stadium. For all kinds of reasons. No it wasn't for a championship, no in the end it didn't change the program, but for that one night it was David versus Goliath and our Fighting Tigers played till they puked, and won that game but for the phantom call that gave USC a first down instead of having to punt.
No one sat. The entire stadium cheered "LSU" for many minutes after the game was over. It was exhausting, heartbreaking, and epic all in one.

I was 17 at that game with my father. My seat overlooked the opposing team tunnel and when USC was waiting to come out to the field I saw Charles white and yelled "White sucks" and he looked up and flipped me the bird.LOL. One of the loudest ames ever at Tiger stadium but the refs were not going to let us upset USC that day. I literally had tears at the end of that game. What gets lost in that season is LSU also lost to Alabama 3-0 that year in a game where both teams only crossed the 50 yd line once on a cold rainy November night. Was there for that also. That Tiger defense was ferocious that year. Out manned but never outplayed.

That was probably the most miserable experiences I’ve ever had in Tiger Stadium. Cold, wet and never a reason to get excited about anything the entire game. Our offense that night made Les Miles teams look like Joe Burrow teams.

15 years old sitting in south end zone. The whole day seemed like a dream. It was eerie... atmosphere outside of the stadium before game was electric. It was just different... hard to explain. Everyone knew So Cal was number 1 and LSU was coming off blowout wins against Colorado and Rice so everyone was anxious to see how good Tigers really were. It seemed like everybody was low key nervous before game. I remember sitting in my seat before game during pregame waiting for teams to come out for warmups. Charles White came out onto the field and did a jog all the way around the field flanked by his two All American tackles Munoz and Budde and I thought Aw shite... it’s on! LSU came out hitting from the start and the fans fed off of the team’s energy facing Goliath. All that penned up nervousness before the game came out in thunderous fashion for four quarters all the way to the final whistle. Walking down the ramps after that game was surreal. It was like everybody was numb from what they had just witnessed. Never felt that feeling after watching any other game after that. Glad I was there.
