And I’ve been as hard on him as anybody recently, and definitely believe we can do better.

But whether we get a better coach, or turn it around under O, I just want LSU football to cement itself as a perennial top 5 program. No reason we shouldn’t be.

And even if we’re not a top 50 program, they’re still our boys. (Felt like I had to add that for the superfan “negatiger hunters” who swear I want them to lose).

Yeah.

I get the feeling op wants to keep Ed o regardless of a number.

Not how it works. Going 7-5 will be a losing record against meaningful opponents. 4-5. A downgrade from last year.

I just don’t see it happening if he’s declining.

I do too. Would love nothing more than to see us start playing like a well coached team and win 9 or 10 games. Nothing I’ve seen makes me think that can happen but I tune in every week hoping they turn it around.

This is a great thread. A safe space for all us “O haters” to talk rationally lol

What is this story? Obviously Ed O has to go, but curious as to what sounds like likely buffoonery from O.

This really makes it sound like a spouse who has cheated and we are holding out hope that they’ve changed. I don’t have much hope for O fwiw

He shouldn't be having to learn lessons over again at his age and level of accomplishment. That said, if he interfered with 3-4 to 4-3 and almost gave that game away (as alleged) then he has no room for error with me.

Bruh, we were killing them playing prevent with the 3 man front and then out of no where switched to sending three, then went to 4 down lineman, and sent them up the field every snap. The QB and RB were killing us with their feet the whole 4th quarter. It was mind boggling.

Btw, they jerked Clark in the 3rd and 4th for portions of series. Jones saw some snaps but couldn’t get into a rhythm. Clark single handedly let MSU back into the game on their last scoring drive. It was almost poetic.

I'm honestly sick of looking at o on the sidelines.

The team would probably do better without his meddling.

O isn’t going anywhere after this season short of a losing record, and maybe not even then.

he loves LSU. I know he really is trying and I had given us a NC. Let things play out. We owe him that

No he doesn't. I love LSU. He pooped on LSU in '09 when chose USC over LSU. If he's fired he'll be like a spurned lover.

Ed is an immature, low-character, lazy individual.

So Woodward just let’s him coach another year to drive us further into the mud. Makes zero sense

Asking the same thing?

Is someone alleging that he forced us into 4 man front over against Daronte who had us in a 3 man front?

They won't pay that big buyout if he doesn't win another game

Are you saying LSU will have to fork up that buy out?
I’ve posted this multiple times. They WILL NOT have to pay shite if they don’t want to. However, to protect the school from the death penalty and get rid of his arse, I can see 1.5 / over the next 5 years to keep him quiet and give him some administrative position letting him”retire” like RC did at TAMU and Mac at UT.
Read his contract to see where is specifically points out NCAA violations and conduct. Both are grounds for dismissal. This whole Title IX black eye and the Guice shite is gonna haunt him forever.

It makes perfect sense when you factor in contract money and the fact that O is two seasons removed from a national championship without a losing record (so far) during COVID seasons.

It has always started and ended with coaching. The coach sets the tone - from the culture of the program, identity and philosophy on defense and offense, to the identification and selection of coaches who will perform best in that system.

When you don’t have an established, stable identify or philosophy, then you find yourself recruiting players and coaches for a moving target. The results manifest themselves on the field and in the locker room.

As it relates to the economics of it all, the buyouts are self inflicted. O and LSU are negotiating from a position of desperation, not strength.
