Pete Jenkins is the Zeus of the 3-4 Defense! You ever heard of Elko, Dardar, and Marshall. They stopped Alabama without a First Down for entire First Half at Alabama when the Bear was still coaching!

Pete Jenkins was initially hired by Coach Stovall to coach the Dline. He is an icon among dline coaches. Techniques he devised are in play today. There truly is a school of d-line coaches that are Jenkins acolytes. Start in 1980 and go through the Archer tenure and a while for Coach Saban and if they played defensive line at LSU, he coached them. Leonard Marshall, Greg Bowser, Bill Elko, Henry Thomas, Roland Barbary, Ramsey Dardar, Karl Wilson et al...he worked with Orgeron as his replacement at USC when Orgeron replaced Kiffin. He's the gold standard for d-line coaches...the best!

The name Cody alone says you're young. The fact you have no idea who Pete Jenkins is says not only are you young, but definitely have NO CLUE about LSU football prior to the Miles era. As good as Orgeron is, he himself has said Pete is the best in the business and has taught O many things. The fact that you not only don't know one of the best to ever do it in any capacity at LSU, you also are too lazy too look it up and come to the board to get your info and bitch about something in which you have no clue. The Rant at it's finest. Congratulations on being you.

pete Jenkins is the best DL coach LSU has ever had. ask coach O; he was his mentor.

Pete is 75 years old and is helping his friend Orgeron out for this year. he won't change anything as he was the one that taught coach O techniques.

he' just gonna coach DL, no recruiting, no paperwork etc.

No jimmies rustled. You showed how ignorant you truly are. And a lot of people made you painfully aware of that.

even though you are a young punk you knowing nothing about an LSu legend coach is the same as us not knowing shite about Billy Cannon or DOc fenton or jimmy taylor or YA tittle. thing is WE KNEW ABOUT THOSE GUYS.

EDUCATE YOURSELF AHEAD OF TIME ON LSU HISTORY!

Wow. Wtf. Pete Jenkins is a legend and better than O.
You people Are the same ones that think Leornard Fournette or PP or TM made the #7 popular at LSU.

Jenkins is not coming here expecting to be a long term coach for us. He's coming here to help us get through this season. The man is retired but one of the greatest DL coach as others have stated above. I'm glad he's here because we are going to need the help while Coach O focuses on being the interim HC.
