McDonough is a true pro. He actually allows Blackledge to do what he is good at without having to cover up all of The mistakes. Vern and Gary could learn a lot from these two.

But didn't Mcdonough say something like 'Rozier hasn't made a mistake yet' just before the pick 6?

Yeah, I believe he said Rosier had avoided a critical mistake to that point and Phillips was running with the convoy seconds later.

I liked their impartiality.

I could not get over Chessin, though. Especially, after they explicitly announced that they were pronouncing Rosier the way that Rosier says his name.

Those two guys actually help a TV audience understand the chess match that is unfolding on the field. They truly add value to the broadcast.

yes i agree. One example was the breakdown of Joe's audible at the line of scrimmage for the touchdown with Nick Brousette.

So his voice cracked. Not like it’s a common occurrence.

Todd Blackledge is the best CFB announcer in the game

It was a huge loss when he left CBS and Verne. Daniels was definitely a down grade.

Sean Mcdonough has always had a great voice for the big play. It's uplifting and thrilling when it's your team and absolutely crushing when it's the other team. One of the best voices in the business, for sure.

I thought they talked way too much about how poorly Miami was playing and what the Hurricanes needed to do to correct their mistakes rather than talk about what LSU was doing right.
Nah, that was actually necessary.

Remember, Miami was the (much) higher ranked team, and this was a national audience. Even with LSU playing well, it still should have been competitive (to the average Joe not closely following either program), or Miami should have had a lead.

They were trying to explain and justify the high ranking Miami had.

Blackledge is the best around. Danielson is good, very good, but his personality can be grating at times. IMO, those 2 are on a different level than others.

And while we're on announcers, I wish the SECN would be bring back Ron Franklin for a Saturday night SEC game each week. He just fits SEC football.

He is annoying to me and tries too hard, but Blackledge does a great job.

Enjoyed their call. Line of the night was "Referee Mike Defee here on the Ed Hochuli biceps fellowship"

Sean Mcdonough has always been great I believe, and its sort of just now dawning on me that I really like Blackledge too. Man I'll never forget Mcdonough on the call in 1996 baseball. I really like his voice and personality and have since.
