I still think BK is building something special here at LSU, and it revolves around...

The QB position.

Everyone saw what he did with that transfer QB nobody wanted (JD5). And Nuss is out there slinging the ball for 300+ yards a game. It's pretty clear he is going to be special next year too. There's no better way to recruit a kid and say hey you saw that? that's what you're going to do here at LSU. The elite receivers will follow and the rest of the team will eventually fall into place. I don't see a program that's in a significantly better position than LSU and it's only a matter of time before the hardware starts coming.

Positivity isn’t allowed around here. Haven’t you heard, the sky is falling and BK is a fraud.

QB future is bright. We’ve never had a run game besides Jayden Daniels with Kelly I would hope that is the focus.

yep.....and to top it off, Beth Rex just resigned for a 4th time in a row now, so Brian Kelly is obviously too difficult to work with.

Is having faith in a coach who has been a consistent winner really considered blind? I’d say the chicken littles in this fanbase sound a lot more unreasonable. LSU is a top 5 job and BK is a top 5 coach.

He is doing the exact opposite with the O-line position(s)

i had a much longer, less direct response than this one......then decided this is basically what i was trying to say.

BK has flaws, no doubt. BK blew up the expectations winning the west in year 1. BK also set deadline to everyone by saying by year 3. first off, year 3 isn't over yet. and his recruiting class from last year is seeing time and the recruiting for next year is top notch. we are in good hands, especially with the staff corrections he made.

I consider success winning championships. Obviously you have lesser expectations for a program that has won 3 titles since 2003

the only thing this offense is missing in my eyes is an absolute mauler at guard. all 5 guys on our line are elite at holding up in pass protection obviously, but none of them can just straight up move people out the fricking way. Once we get some elite interior OL, it's gonna open up everything. All our run game this year has been handing to Durham and praying that he makes guys miss. I don't remember many times where there was just a big hole opened up.

So because the program has averaged a championship every ~7 years, nobody should be positive about Kelly 2.5 years into his tenure?

The QB position

Yeah I mean we legit have become QBU. Oh how people forget decades of asinine QB play. Success in modern cfb is incredibly QB dependent and BK has shown the ability to recruit, keep, and coach QBs. At times I feel like he singles out QBs on the sideline too heavily, but I'd rather that than a coach who is not involved with QB X's and O's (Coach O/Les Miles/Dennis Allen). Sure there are a few things about him that we can pick a bone about but no one is perfect and I struggle to see this program ever being bad as long as he's here. I get that 9-3 is awful at LSU, but in reality it is highly above average. I think things will come together soon and we'll get some more hardware in the next few years. Until then, let's be glad we don't suck

Agree the key to the future is the QB but it is not Nuss. He will get a 1st round grade and needs to take it. We are winning our next Natty with Bryce Underwood. Hand him the keys on Day 1, take your lumps with a Tr Fr QB next and compete for Nattys the next 2.

You really believe BK developed JD5. I give the credit to Denbrock and Sloan. Too bad Denbrock left. Maybe one day Sloan will be a good OC.

I’m looking at Kelly’s entire coaching career not just 2.5 years. He hasn’t won any titles in 30+ years. He said when he got here to judge him in year 3. It’s year 3. You guys can bury your heads in the sand , but it won’t change the facts.

Blind faith?

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach who took a team from a dumpster fire to the SEC championship in his first year?

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach who followed up that ten-win season with a second ten-win season?

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach who took a QB out of the transfer portal and coached him into a Heisman winner?

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach who got the #1 recruit in the country, who is also the #1 QB in the country, to commit to LSU because of that coach's QB development and offensive scheme?

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach whose recruiting classes are ABSOLUTELY first rate and only improving?

On3 Football Team Recruiting Rankings
2025 LSU 2
2024 LSU 4
2023 LSU 5
2022 LSU 17

Saban seems to be the gold standard around here.

Is it blind faith to be positive about a coach who is going to have a better record in his first three years at LSU than Saban had in his first three years at LSU?

Nick Saban
2000 8-4
2001 10-3
2002 8-5

It's not blind faith. It's looking at and accepting the facts.

If you want to talk about being blind, you'd have to be blind to not see all of those facts and want to get rid of Kelly.

It’s fair to say Kelly is a “consistent winner.”
There are a few dozen of those.
They don’t get paid 100 million for ten years.
Sun Belt Billy was a Consistent winner….

You sound like a spoiled brat who pitches a fit when you don’t get your way. Everyone knows the expectation at LSU is championships. It goes without saying. The program is in a really good place now and moving forward. It was quite the opposite when BK took over. Let’s look at the totality of the program.

-Recruiting is top notch
-Coaching staff is elite
-Development, particularly at QB, is as good as anywhere
-NIL and fan support is amongst the nations best

The only thing the whiners in this fanbase have is to come out of the woodwork when we lose a game. Newsflash: in modern college football, everyone is going to lose games. The LSU program is in a really good spot.
