Here is how I think it will play in 2 scenarios

1. Daniels coming back

Nuss will transfer out because he is good enough to start now and he has little time left. I predict he goes to TCU. Lots of connections there.

Daniels will start
Howard will be 2nd string and everyone’s favorite player. He will see time in 2-3 games

2. Daniels does not come back-

Nuss stays and likely starts
Howard is backup and likely sees time in 2-3 games

In no scenario does walker transfer before the next season.

In today's college football, no scenario is off the table. Not to say I think Howard will transfer, but have you seen all the QBs in the portal?

Yeah, I completely agree.

There are lots of reasons for Nuss to transfer, but none for Walker Howard. The only issue that could throw a wrench in what Howard does is if Nuss and Danials both choose to stay.

I see these two scenarios:

JD comes back and Nuss then starts.

Or JD doesn't come back and then Nuss then starts.

either way, i don't think its likely walker transfers right now.

2. Daniels does not come back-

If Daniels goes Pro, there is a very high likelihood that CBK would pick up an experienced QB in the portal. The interest from outside the program would be there.

This is the thing, there arent many scenarios where a top tier P5 program could offer him an immediate starting position. So his prospects would only slightly improve, but he would still have to go to a new place and battle.

I do not think a transfer is imminent with him at all. This is the exact position he knew he would be in at LSU.

I do not agree with Moscona on this.

I agree with OP. If Nuss is starting, Howard will get time also and will have the chance to take over if Nuss doesn’t keep turnovers down.
In that scenario he could transfer out after next year

I agree...but the kink is if both JD and Nuss stay.

This leaves Howard at 3 (three)

where he doesn't want to be.

don't you see...

If Nuss is the starter, then Howard has to sit for 2, likely 3 more years and gets 1 year as starter for LSU.

I just don't see Howard staying for that, regardless of who his dad is.

Agree. I really don’t see this as all that complicated. If JD returns, whoever is #3 after the spring is going to leave. Now, if JD leaves, Nuss & Howard are both here through the 2023 season. The backup bolts after the season.

This take is so dumb. Yes, you obviously take an experienced great qb from the portal under any circumstances. But you do not take an experienced qb every single time you are (somewhat) young at the position. Nuss will be in year 3. He is not young and there will be no transfer qb unless someone elite and experienced wants to come.
