You don’t like it when our QB scrambles for a 4 yard sack?

Hopefully Nuss takes this off season to understand how the safety position operates

First time I've seen a thread about this.

It's a different sport now than the days of Bear Bryant. I think Bryant's line was he wanted a QB whose throwing motion looked like he was flicking chicken shite off his hands. He didn't want them too comfortable throwing because he believed in grinding it out and wearing down the defense.

The sport has obviously evolved a long way from those days. Passing is essential.

I will say, however, that if we did not have a quarterback that could run when protection fell apart, that we would have won less games than we did this past year. Hopefully the o-line has progressed since then.

Daniels is the same now as he was his first start. He’s hit his ceiling.

Not saying he isn’t very talented, but it’s time everyone accepts that this is who he is.

Absolutely! We need a qb who can read a defense quickly and accurately throw downfield. Otherwise we are wasting the receivers talent

Look, I really love JD and everything he's accomplished here, but we have way too much talent at WR to not be maxing out the potential there. I'll trust whatever decision BK makes, but if JD doesn't somehow learn to trust his WRs enough to throw it downfield 6-8 times a game, I'd like to see a switch.

I didn't know Les followed Bear's advice to closely. I know he was a Bo guy, and Big 10 physical and all that shite. But after 2008, those words could have come out of Les' mouth!!

Kelly has to have a plan to address the passing woes with Daniels. There is a reason Boutte is coming back and Anderson transferred here. My guess is that Kelly told the receiver's that there will be a open competition in Spring for the qb job. I trust Kelly's decision making here especially after he saw what a passing attack can do for this offense in the SEC championship game. Daniels, Nuss, Howard in the spring may the best qb win is my guess.

He has seen it throughout the year reviewing film. He has seen the same open WRs that everyone except JD has seen.

The comparison is rather simple…..JD is a slightly better runner than Nuss. But Nuss is a much better thrower.

Or…from a coaching point of view, is it easier to open JDs eyes, or to slow Nuss down?

I don't have a problem with a running QB if he averages 100+ yrds per game and puts up 250+ passing.

Opposing defense’s definitely figured out how to contain Daniels it showed from Arky to the end of the season. With the inability to consistently (he did connect on a few long passes) throw down field, something needs to be done.

It worked for Daniels in the beginning and halfway through the season but what happened the last 3 games? You don't think every team this upcoming season we play will do the same against Daniels? It starts with FSU. We have to have a qb that can throw passes consistently and be able to read defenses at least a little bit. Right now Daniels showed he cannot.
