It’s always hilarious when we fans are reminded to stay focused, as if we’re playing.

Or what if Clyde catches that ball for a 1st down coming out the half...... the doors would have been blown open....

I don’t think Clyde picks up that first down even if he catches it. It looked to me like Texas was all over it. I thought that at the stadium, and I watched the play last night, and confirmed that opinion.

This thread is stupid.

No, it’s not. The OP is dead right. He’s not saying we should be moved down in the rankings because we could have lost. He’s saying that the team needs to channel the experience into a wakeup call, because we are vulnerable if we get cocky.

People have varied personality types. The OP (and Nick Saban, btw) are the type who react to success by getting cautious. You are (maybe) the type who reacts to success by getting euphoric. A guy like you looks at the OP and thinks, WTF, what a wuss. And the OP probably looks at your reaction and thinks, That knucklehead is heading for a fall.

What happens if Jefferson doesn’t catch that 3rd and 17 pass

Why would this be asked?

You could do that for almost any victory that isn't a blowout

Lots of nuts and aunts and uncles and shite.

Games have a kaleidoscope if possible endings. It’s what makes football cool.

And, as some have said, the best defense is a good offense. Get over it.

We are also not discussing the other nearly 200 plays in the game. What if Stingley comes down with the interception? What if Ehlinger missed on some of the incredible throws he made? What if he connected on some of the throws he missed? What if his receivers drop balls they caught for touchdowns? What if they score on one of their first two drives?

We aren’t discussing what didn’t happen...because it didn’t happen. Staying humble and hungry has nothing to do with what didn’t happen. Let the coaches worry about keeping players humble and hungry. It’s their job and they’re well paid for it.

I don't know about the fan base and doesn't matter, but what makes you think the team is not "humble and hungry?"

What happens if Texas catches the 1st td.

What happens if CEH catches his pass and makes the 1st down.

What happens if Stingley comes up with that I int.

What happens if the DB who went to Bama holds his commitment to LSU and is on the field last night.

We could do this forever.

Better than a jet sweep or a run straight up the middle.

What happens if LSU doesn't have drive-killing penalties? What happens if the LSU d-line isn't held all night?

LSU executed better and won the game. Period.

Why would you post this. At the end of the day we finally had a coach that did not run three dives and punt in that situation. So Orgeron and Ensminger have titanium testicles Another game changer for the LSU program

Ok, I'll play:

Burrow's pass dropped by Jefferson. The Texas crowd goes crazy, cheering louder than ever scaring Bevo the cow. Bevo breaks away from the handlers, running rampant on the field, goring all that comes near. The Minister of Culture cannot escape his wrath, and is gored and trampled to death near midfield. A LSU fan, who has a concealed carry, runs out and puts Bevo down, creating mass hysteria from the vegans in the stands. Fights break out, the National Guard is called in to settle the situation. Hollywood elites attend the funeral of the M.o.C., thousands attend at the stadium. Al Queda flies in a hijaacked plane and blows up everything killling thousands at the funeral. The orange man responds, dragging Russia into the fray against us. N. Korea gets mad, just because, and lights up several nukes, which prompts the US to send back, which prompts Russia to send nukes. Total global nuclear war, it is the end game!

Then UT likely wins and we sit here raving about our offense and crying about our defense.

every close game comes down to moments like these. Close games often come down to just "the way the ball bounces". It is up to players and coaches to increase the odds of the ball bouncing their way by making good decisions and good play.

No. Then we go for it and make it on 4th and 17 and its even a bigger legend than 3rd and 17

What if on the play before ( 2nd down) either the TE or the RB picked up the blitzer and Burrow was not sacked?

Silliness.

Stay out of the land of "what if". It is the epitome of hell on earth.
