right.... because he caught it.

You cant live in a world of hypotheticals. What if their back catches the wide open td on the goal line? We get the ball at our 25 on the ensuing kickoff and go down and score and it sets an entirely different tone for the game and we blow the doors off of them...

Then we would have gone back down on our next possession and scored

There are way too many "what if's" to discuss if you want to go down this road.

It was a 2 possession lead with 30 seconds to play. We won, enjoy it.

Good lord.

I have one. How about we discuss what if Clyde catches that pass on 3rd and 2 on the first drive after half? What if we go right down and score again to go up by 20? They clearly couldn’t stop us.

What if that took the crowd out and all their momentum never happened?

LSU won. Move on!!!

Eta: This is the stupidest thread I’ve seen on here in a while. You should feel bad about yourself.

STFU with your stupid arse. Answer this. What happens if the Stingley interception in the 1st half is called correctly? Do we go to half up 21-0 or 28-0?

... no one has discussed, “what happens if the entire offensive line caught the crabs from UT coeds”?

You know there are an infinite number of iterations of this? If you taken first semester calculus you’d understand that for every negative iteration there is a positive iteration. Just saying.

If we talking what if’s.

What if he did drop it and then LSU punts and the defense stops Texas from scoring?

What if Texas goes down and scores to take the lead but leaves LSU plenty of time to go down and score a game winning field goal?

Why do people think we need to temper the fan base? We aren’t playing Saturday. It’s the coaches job to get the players focused not ours.

OP has a loser perspective on football and life. That negative, worrier POV is completely debilitating. Seek help my friend!

I think it's a legitimate thing to discuss. The percentages of completing a 3rd and 17 aren't very great. We almost fricked it up...but we didn't.

That series went:

Incomplete Pass
Sack
Incredible 3rd and 17 conversion for a TD

We could have easily seen a different outcome but thankfully we did not because of Burrows outstanding play.

We are going to play the 'what if' game.

What if Clyde had caught the 3rd down pass on the 1st drive of the second half? Would the game have been a run-away?

What if a cow had a square butt and ate sawdust? Would she poop 2x4s?

Bottom line-----We won.

I will drink the purple Koolaid as often as possible.

What if skyler green doesn’t catch the touchdown against Georgia in 2003? We don’t win the championship if Georgia won What if Demetrius Byrd doesn’t catch the touchdown against auburn or Jacob Hester doesn’t make all those fourth down plays against Florida in 2007? We don’t win the championship if those two teams beat us. I can go on and on.....

This^
It’s kind of the point... it’s a game. Big teams make special plays. 2003/2007 had those big moments where it felt like it was meant to happen. That moment against Texas sure felt like it was supposed to happen, to me.

You can "what if" anything to death, so why do it?

What if chase catches the TD earlier in the game? What if the defense makes any of the tackles they missed in the second half? We can play this game all day long.

Pure conjecture. Joe Burrow et al delivered the pass.....Justin caught it, evaded tacklers, and scored. Won the game.

Next opponent.

What if they didn’t score after we punted?

Since we’re playing the what if game

...“Why would you post this. At the end of the day we finally had a coach that did not run three dives and punt in that situation. So Orgeron and Ensminger have titanium testicles Another game changer for the LSU program“...

I’m happy as hell about all the facts you mention above and that we’re out of the Stone Age and our offense looks like the New Orleans Saints. I’m just unused to and uneasy when the Herbstreits and other pundits create this bandwagon and anoint us as their flavor of the week. So, my post was just a call to pump the brakes and realize that...yeah, we’re really good and it’s a great time to be a Tiger and we were the better team last Saturday night, however, Texas was still within one play of us. So, speak softly, carry a big stick, and stay thirsty, but stay away from the national koolaid.
