I hope Miles accepts the ESPN job

Despite how it all ended, I believe he truly loves LSU and the Tigers will always be near and dear to his heart. It was time for him to go and I was on board with firing him last year.
Not only would Les bring national recognition to our brand week in and week out, but he doesn't deserve to be dragged through the mud for some of these small jobs like Houston and Purdue. I don't think he'll get another crack at a major program.
Although a small part of me would like some level vindication by the media to see him try to run his inept style of offense at another school without 5* athletes. I hope he accepts the ESPN job, becomes an ambassador for LSU, and maybe we get some of that ESPN love that Ohio State, Bama, USC, and some others seem to always get in the rankings.

I would have thought ESPN would require fluent english as a job requirement.

Perfect fill-in for when Corso retires can take right over as the ex-head coach that trips over his words, stutters and has no clue what he's talking about most of the time .

I think Les still loves LSU and thoroughly enjoyed his time here. He'll be remembered as one of our greatest coaches. I don't think that him being on TV would be anything but good for our program. Even if he sounds like a rambling buffoon sometimes the perception will be "wow, they still won all those games with him as head coach?"

4 years too late. Les should have been there. They loved to build him up then trash him at the first sign of something bad. ESPN has made a lot of money off Les over the years.
Very entertaining guy. Good fit if he doesn't get a gig this year.

Les can't form a coherent sentence or articulate clear thoughts. That won't fly as an analyst or commentator.
It might seem funny and quirky for a little while, then it will get old and frustrating.

true, but in Corso's defense, he had a stroke. I don't know what Les' defense would be.

Does the buyout clause extended to reporting jobs? Would whatever ESPN would pay him be subtracted from the amount we owe him?

seeing how no one is hiring him makes us look even crazier for keeping him so long.

He's tough to listen to. But so is Lee Corso. He'd be a great ambassador for LSU. Goodness knows there are enough of them for Ohio State and other teams on ESPN.
Also i want him to get out of coaching because i like the guy but just dont think he's a good coach. I think he'd bomb at any school that wasnt already built to sustain success and had good built in recruiting. And those dont come available often. Certainly not Purdue or Houston and places that would actually hire him.

I remember one of the networks trying Dale Brown as a commentator for a while but it didn't work out. Dale seemed a little stiff and didn't really add a lot of content. My gut tells me Les will be similar. He's goofy and lovable like Dale but he's not going to provide a lot of analysis (like Jay Bilas does for college BB) and he gets tounge-tied pretty easily. I wish him the best, though.

Umm...have you ever watched ESPN?

I can see him taking Corso's spot

Hope this reduces his buyout, since we are apparently so broke we have to do our coach shopping on Black Friday.

Les Miles could never replace Corso

Emmitt Smith had a problem with this and is why is no longer on air.
Bet the coach speak Miles thought he needed to do would disappear & he would do okay for a while as a personality

Ever hear Screamin A Smith go on one of his diatribes?
