And with a fullback. IMO if he does that we go back to square one and he is on a fast track out the door. Btw this is coming from mike detillier a close friend of O. What are your thoughts?

I think O doesn't have a clue on what he wants on offense. Not a good sign.

O was scared that Canada's offense wasn't working after State and Syracuse + didn't think we had the personnel we needed for that offense with so many injuries.

I don't really fault O for getting cold feet when things started to look really bad even before Troy. And I kind of respect him a little more when he realized that was an overreaction (or was made to realize).

Like even some players have said, who knows if we beat UF and Auburn without that loss. Props to the team top to bottom for using that as a jumping off point to turn the season around.

Lol he has wanted the “USC” type offense since Lane Kiffin was in play.

O was in freakout mode. I think he knows that with a new offense and one so drastically different from the one they ran last year will need time to settle in. I think he saw that as the year went on.

LSU's offense under Canada had a lot of pre-snap shifts but when the ball was snapped, it was mostly pro-style power run play action that O can't seem to get out of his head from his USC days.

Well, he has a lot of 'thoughts' about offense, so that seems completely plausible. Geezus.

I fault 0 and Alleva. I could be wrong, but 0 is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. No one was happier than Nick Saban when he was named head coach. Orgeron needs to let the OC do his darn job.

And, yet again, this is the problem with O as a head coach. You keep bouncing around from one offensive philosophy to another and you end up with chaos on that side of the ball. You start recruiting for one type of offense and then switch and start trying to fit round pegs into square holes.

Could be a sign of more meddling to come.

This is a known fact! He wants to run that type of offense which leads to the question, why in the hell would they want to hire Canada then. Why, because it was a rushed decision in doing so.

Truth be told, we didn't have the personnel at that time in the season to run what Canada wanted to run. Up tempo wasn't going to work when we didn't have the WR's to go 4 out and for sure we didn't have the depth along the defensive line to keep up. Believe it or not that is it in a nut shell along with Canada not wanting Etling as the QB, he wanted Brennan running the show, hence all the conflict.

I'd love to see a pro-spread offense. But you have to have pretty good pass protection for that. Are we equipped for this? I don't think we are yet...

I agree completely, but we should next year because our offensive line should be as good as it ever has in many years and Brennan should be very good at running that type of offense along with Narcisse

You respect him for having the AD tell him to stop meddling?

as long as we start throwing to the TE more and throw a bunch of underneath routes, I'm cool with it.

he shoudln't have a clue b/c that's not what we hired him to do. He needs to hire a OC and let him coach. I don't want his dumb ra ra arse having anything to do with the offense.
Recruit, fire the team up, and manage the game. You don't call offensive plays, and you don't call defensive plays.

When did O become some expert on offense? either you pick the type of offense you want to run and recruit qb's for that offense, or you recruit the best QB's you can find and cater the offense to their skill set. You want a pro style offense, fine, tell Narcisse he should look at transferring then, and don't think about bringing in a dual threat qb ever again.

i'm sick and fricking tired of seeing 3 TE/FB on the field every frickin play. I'd rather you find a way to put Guice, Williams and CLyde on the field at the same time, then have Guice out there with two or three TE's. I'd rather take my chances with a LB or safety worrying about if Willaims is running up the middle, or if Guice is getting it in the jet sweep, or what the hell is this little guy doing over, then have to trust that all of our 3 TE's is going to make a block every play to be successful.
