What about championships every other year?

Second time - you mean Losing in the regional at unc?
yes. That team went 13-17 and barely made it into a regional and was 3-12 at one point.

That’s not even close to being up to the expectations that are expected at LSU

This year they may not even get to 13 wins

LSU was 3-12 at this point of the season after our 2023 title. Just putting that into context for some of you fans that just started watching baseball. This is not unprecedented.

That team also had two almost elite Friday and Saturday starters, Tommy White, and Jared Jones, oh and they had catchers who didn’t allow 3 passed balls a game and useless 2nd and 3rd basemen’s.

Also had a guy named Griffin Herring in relief. Nobody on this team touches any of those guys.
It’s Curiel all around, Milams glove, and a bunch of inconsistent shite.

It’s too still too early to call it a meltdown. Definitely not a Ed O style meltdown.

Most of Os meltdown was helped by the Covid nonsense.

People keep forgetting about that small part.

Kind of takes the luster out of the Championship season being a complete Dog the following year.

Did 2019 lose any luster?

To be objective, I think this team has a chance to finish the season with the worst SEC record in modern team history.

13-17 is the worst since CPM's first season (12-17-1).

You have to look back before Skip to find a conference % worse than that.

Now, we all said that in 2024, too, so that's why you play the games.

Didn’t Ole Miss and State have epic meltdowns after there nattys? At least we won a second one with Jay and I have no doubt we’ll be back. They never have recovered after theirs.

It's a good thing we had Skenes and Anderson in 2023 and 2025.

And who's fault is that. The coaches get paid to evaluate and bring in talent.

6-9 in the SEC with losses to ULALA McNeese and Bethune Cookman is an epic disaster.

Quit defending the indefensible.

the seasons not over. we are capable of winning series 2-1 as we've shown . win a couple in a row and were back where we need to be. our schedule isnt the most difficult. I think Georgia is the only team that really scares me

I never thought it was a national championship team but I didn’t see this level of incompetence coming either. I just knew we had too much talent to replace all at once but I never imagined missing on absolutely everyone we brought in.

Uh yes, it’s a good thing we had great players. What kind of upside down logic are you peddling here?

That having great players like that isn’t the norm. And you need to be able to win without super elite guys, and JJ hasn’t proven he can

I wouldn’t call this an epic meltdown. The championship seems to have jaded most LSU fans into thinking it should happen every year. Jays had some not great teams here before.

2022. LSU 40-22 LSU places 4th in the SEC and advances to NCAA Regional final

2023 LSU 54-17 NCAA National Champions

2024 LSU 43-23 LSU advances to NCAA Regional Final

2025 LSU 53-15. NCAA National Champions
