Depends.

How long are you going to pretend anything OP said is wrong?

It took Kirby 6 years to win a natty and he had a full roster at the start of his tenure.

But didn't he play for one in like his 2nd season and it was only Tua's heroics that did him in?

I'd love to believe this, but isn't the O-line a supposed strength of this team? How many guys will be drafted from it?

The running game has regressed by leaps and bounds. This does not bode well for the future at all.

I know Daniels covered up for a lot of the putrid run game last year, but really, there are ZERO excuses for why it sucks so incredibly bad this year. Kelly does not know how to fix it. It can't be any more obvious.

Not that it matters at all in the scheme of things, but I have no faith in Brian Kelly anymore. None. Not when it comes to winning championships.

We won the SEC west 2 years ago.

We did not last year.

We will not play for the SEC title this year.

That is not upward.

This excuse is bullshite and I’m not in the fire Kelly camp. This is college athletics with a free agent portal. He said judge him on year three.

We are on an upward trajectory from the lowest days of Orgeron sure. But we are not on an upward trajectory from 9-3 to title contenders.
this is the main point to be made here. Yes, BK brought us out of the mirey clay ahead of schedule but I’m not sure we are in an upward trajectory any more. I think we’ve plateaued just above mediocrity. We will likely lose at least one more game this year. So this will be 3 straight with 3 or more losses. The real test will be next year with the talent coming in. If we only win 9-10 games next year we will know the “upward trajectory” has indeed flattened out.

Is losing to USC competing with the big boys? Just wondering how you watch us lose to a terrible, awful, putrid USC team and think we are improving every year.

Kelly overachieved in year one and has remained stagnant since. After all, it was his bad hires who put him in this position, not Coach O’s. That excuse is played out.

BK’s initial defensive hires set him back a couple of years-and that’s on him

BK refusing to see the clear COACHING issue with OL will mean a few more of the excuses next year.

Did I say LSU was gonna beat Bama? No. Is it possible? Certainly, and wouldn’t be surprised at all.

Can we please stop building the Bama game up as our biggest challenge this season.

Ole Miss and aTm were the best teams we’ll play. Bama is a close 3rd.

In year three it should not matter. But okay, I’ll give you this excuse as long as you will agree that in year four it doesn’t matter what happened before. If we don’t make the 12 team playoff, and get to the final four, then CBK is not the guy.

Dude, what would you do? Clean house? Then what? Is the new coach expected to win the SEC in year one? Or does he get time? Or you will bitch when the new guy institutes his system and losses 2/3 games along the way? And this does not address the money side of things. Breathe, my friend. Breathe.

No one is happy about this loss. No one is happy about the lack of a running game. But improvement is not linear. You will have unexpected good things happen along the way as well as unexpected bad things. Take a step back and see a bigger picture. That is what the OP is trying to say.

Kelly gets credit for firing the Coach that ruined a National Title last year. But doesn't take the blame for the hire?

House set the program back but that goes back to Kelly. I have defended Kelly alot but we don't need to make concessions to him. This is his third year and the team is not executing that is on Coaching. He has plenty of years on his contract so he is not going to be fired nor should he. But he needs to be held accountable for where the team is now. No excuses. Year 3 and the team is not executing and blowing leads and with a star studded O-Line we cannot run the ball which is inexcusable. All goes on Coaching.

I hope our team improves throughout the year and transitioning into next season but they are heavily flawed and a lot of it is Coaching and he deserves the blame for it.

Next years excuse will be “ well he had to replace almost the entire offensive line and two of the top receivers, just wait til year 5”.
