LF7 will get it next year.

To be fair, Saban helped pad those stats at the end of the season - big time.
Henry had 46 carries against Auburn and 44 against Florida.
Fournette only carried the ball over 30 times twice this season (31 and 32 respectively).
How many fourth quarters did Fournette sit out this year?
even if all of that is true, it doesn't matter because Heisman voters don't do that kind of analysis. All they see are the rushing yards. So when a back goes over 200, Heisman voters are impressed. It's really that simple.
I'm not saying it's right, it's just the way it is.

Against our three best opponents, he did not produce huge stats. He should have been invited but no chance of winning after the three losses in a row.
So the Stanford RB can put up 50 yards against fricking UCF and that's ok?

They can keep the Heisman. I want that other trophy.

Didn't Henry get 30 something yards against ULM?

How many yards did Derrick Henry have against Louisiana Monroe?
How many versus Arkansas?
That "bad game LF had against Ark" he had 1.3 more YPC than Henry did.
Henry had 4 games < 100 yards. LF had 2.
Henry's saving grace is that he did not have to rush against Alabama's front 7.

He had 52 yards on 19 carries against that great defensive unit. La Monroe had 2 wins all year but somehow 4 yards a carry vs them is ignored.
The facts are that the media doesn't give a rats arse about the whole season they only care about where you finish in a award that is supposed to go to the best player for the season.

He should've gotten an invite. Anyone who says otherwise is a blathering idiot

I'm not saying Henry is a better back, just that he had much better numbers when it counted.
So it only counts when Henry does well. Not when he rushes for under 100 the other 3 games?

Guice will keep him from winning it.
This. It will be hard for Fournette to duplicate this season's stats because of Guice. Henry put up monster stats because Saban did not trust another RB to spell Henry. LSU does not have that problem.

That's the problem. This was a good year for a RB to win it. No good qb's this year. What's the chances of that happening in back to back years in college football. If a qb has a great year that means LF would have to have a Barry sanders type year to win it. Which is possible obviously. Lol

The year Ingram won he had 5 games under 100 yards

Shaw, Emmert, Saban and the REC will ensure it.

uh, the Heisman people decide who gets invited, and it's based on top vote-getters. LF was sixth in the voting and they only invited the top 3. Not hard to understand.
And you do realize that just because LF finished sixth in the Heisman voting doesn't mean he's only the sixth best player in the country. It's just the way the award works. And that's all I am pointing out.

anybody can cherry-pick stats. No player (or team) is perfect for all 12 games.
The truth of the matter is that in the last 4 games, LF rushed for 31, 91, 108, and 159 (and 3 of those were horrible losses).
In Henry's last 4 games (regular season), he ran for 210, 204, 68 (Charleston Southern blowout, 9 carries), and 271. And they won all of those games.
It may not be right, but late season big games have a huge impact on Heisman voters.
