I agree! Nobody else could bring the ball up and set the offense up under the Sc Pressure.

LSU had their chances to change the outcome of the game. Whether it's a botched inbound, letting SC score at the end of both quarters in the first half, missing shots, whatever. To put all on the blame on HVL is quite frankly pretty shitty. We lost by single digits to the only undefeated team left in college basketball. It was a tie game with about 2 minutes left. Did I want LSU to win? Hell yyes.am I going to blame the whole game on one player that played her arse off? No.

What’s the fricking story with LSU not having a point guard? That’s the big story out of all these threads I’m reading. How in the frick did Mulkey let this happen? Honest question.

Your PG can't have the same amount of turnovers as assists. HVL had a bad night running the PG. She's been decent enough against inferior opponents but she's just not a PG.

Willimas shot poorly but still had 12 point to go along with 6 assists against 1 turnover. Maybe MW should experiment with bring the ball up the court and getting the offense set up. HVL should go back to her SG position.

Michaela's 1 for 10 from 3 was the problem. Get her closer to the basket, please

Her defense was not good, but I thought our offensive sets were poor. SC seemed to move the ball better in O

Lots of missed shots by different numbers in the 4th. Especially when we got behind.

Shooting too early at the end of the first half gave SC a chance to close the half with a 3. Give up an unnecessary 3, lose the momentum.

She had 3 really bad decisions. The play at the end of the half which led directly to a 3 for USCe. Then two really bad passes which led directly to Reese picking up 2 fouls.

But she was not the reason we lost. We still had opportunities to win the game just didn't make the plays. HVL made 2 really clutch plays in the 4th quarter to keep us in the game but she did have some costly plays.

I'm not a coach, but she looked like she was a notch below the rest of the starters. We needed another Jasmine or Morris.

The biggest issue we have is that in close games the point guard becomes the deciding factor. For example, when Morris ran the point she controlled the ball at the end of close games. She would penetrate the paint and either get fouled or pass to the open player...Think about the difference in the game last night. If we are going to win it all this year, we need to be able to finish close games...we've already lost twice because we don't have that "go to" player yet.

1-10 from 3 wasn't a problem from our best scorer? You sound so dumb

HVL played one of her best games last night. She was solid defensively and was able to score for the most part. I was terrified she wouldn’t hold her own but she did.

But she did throw the ball away at a key moment. It was a brain fart. It happens. AR did the same thing 10 sec later when she fouled. Both plays were stupid. Angel knows better.

That’s not the problem. The problem is we have ZERO depth.
We played five players 80-90% of the time and then Rosario and Poa. Smith and Pooles presence are missed greatly.

ADR and Poa both looked lost most of the time.

I also don’t understand why we force run the offense thru Morrow or VL. Morrow takes horrible shots half the time. VL needs to be spotting up.

Johnson is criminally under utilized on offense. She’s the one person we have that can penetrate at will. Let her PF that shite more.

I also don’t understand why when Poa is in the game she HAS to be the PG. a lot of the time it works. But if they are gonna put an elite defender on her let someone else start the offense. She’s not an elite ball handler. Stick her in the corner and let MW or FJ do it. Then that elite defender is nullified not emphasized.

Ridiculous all of you looking to pin the loss on somebody specifically. Look at the numbers below and tell me who was blame...

quote:

SC LSU
Field Goal % 47.7 44.8
Three Point % 35.0 33.3
Turnovers 12 12
Rebounds 39 37

Two great teams went toe to toe and we just didnt finish the win.

Bro Van Lith wasn’t the problem last night. I don’t know what to tell you.

She didn’t “light it up”. But she didn’t play bad.

Man. We stood toe to toe with best team in the country for three quarters.

Then they outscored us by 10 in the fourth and pulled away in the last 4 min because we have absolutely NO bench. We have five players that are a level to play SC and that’s it. Angel fouls out because we HAD to play her with four fouls and we just got tired man. MK HVL FJ played almost every minute.

That was the issue. Our bench scored 4 points.

So her taking bad 3 point shots early in the shot clock several times wasn’t a problem? Hell even Coach was getting aggravated with her telling her to wait for better looks or pass
