HVL wasn’t the problem

I know she’s been taking a lot of heat here, and maybe some of it is justified. But I watched the game tonight and it looked like to me they just had a bad night shooting, at least in the second half. Didn’t look like HVL was the reason they lost.

she was the biggest problem Look at her close out to end the half on the SC made 3 after she had just took a terrible shot on the other end

She played horrible defense, made really two really bad passes that resulted in two Angel Reese fouls and can’t create any offense off the dribble. No we don’t have better but we should have taken a true point guard with sec speed and quickness out of the portal. In her defense, she isn’t a PG.

I won’t call her the problem but the end of the half fiasco ended up coming back to bite us. That was a 5 point swing

I think setting high screens instead of playing 1-4 offense could have helped relieve the pressure and free up the guards a little more.

You’d swear she had 10 turnovers tonight. She had 3. Isn’t SC one the best or the best defensive team in the country? Williams going 1-10 from three was the bigger problem.

HVL had her moments, but Williams shooting was atrocious. She was better on the dribble, but she forced it from 3 when she just wasn’t on her night. Needed more Flaujae and Morrow

Totally agree with everything you said! Also, if Poole would have been available we could have moved HVL off the ball.

What were her moments? A made 3 after 2 missed free throws and another 3 later in the game? That’s about the only moments. Everyone tries to make excuses for her bc she isn’t a pg. how do you excuse her awful defense every single game even against terrible teams.

Her defense might be a bigger problem than her not being a pg. Hall scored the last 8 points for SC, guess who was trying to guard her.

Actually the last 3 by Hall was Williams late to rotate because she overplayed the Big SC C and left her with an open shot.

Yea it’s pretty telling when Poa can’t stay on the court with this competition for more than 30 seconds.

Poa had that one miraculous score, but she looked really bad.
