thatcher had good stuff but had trouble locating it and if he got hit he crumbled. Loved what he brought for the championship though

Hurd is signing a pro contract, this literally means nothing

Yea this is a cya move

Yep, with the do not contact tag probably meaning he doesn't want to deal with other teams contacting him until he sees what the draft brings for both him and the incoming LSU pitchers.

Doesn't absolutely mean he is gone if the draft is not what he wants and probably gives him a tiny bit more leverage with any team picking him.

I'm more 90% on that.

Did he go to the combine anyone know?

These were the guys invited to the MLB combine, Hurd was one. I did not find any writeups on how he did. There were rave reviews of Jones, however.

Thatcher Hurd
Luke Holman
Griffin Herring
Jared Jones
Gage Jump
Justin Loer
Christian Little.

I think the overall picture is fine. Need to get Herring back or at least add another lefty or two.

Did you watch the team last year?

Appreciate his big time contribution for a title last year. He will be just fine in life, Hurd seems like a quality guy.

May be back. He’s playing to be drafted but wants to keep options open especially for NIL.

Good luck to him and always thankful for a guy that contributed to the Natty in 2023 but let’s be honest he underwhelmed the majority of the time he was here.

I don't think anyone was considering him to be on the roster next year anyway, so this all seems performative. I doubt he's pitching anywhere in college next season.
He is just covering all his bases. He is most likely gone to draft anyway.

Makes sense, don’t think he would have made the roster anyway. Wish him all the best.

Not a very good take considering Hurd was a very important reason we even won a championship last year. I'm not sure you can just put both these players in the same sentence together when you compare Harris career accolades in college. Not hammering him just saying this is a dumb take.

I get what you're saying, I considered Hurd a draft risk not a flight risk.

This is disappointing news to me. As with the others I pull my tail off wanting them to succeed and poof, gone.

This transfer portal has to be a nightmare for coaches trying to have any continuity in building a program.
