Humble Petition: Play Hey Fightin’ Tigers

The game on Saturday night was fantastic and the crowd was great despite the elements. But one noticeable absence has been the lack of “Hey Fightin’ Tigers” being played by TGBFTL.
I know the powers that be read this board. Could you please consider bringing back this song? It has been one of my family’s favorite traditions and I would hate for it to disappear from games forever.

Was Tiger Rag played by Clemson after their TD?
Wasn’t Tiger Rag banned after TDs in the 80’s during games because of calling opposing fans “a-hole” “a-hole” or am I thinking of another song? I remember for was in pregame until the mid 2000s and Neck appeared shortly afterward. That’s Frank W.

It got banned but way more recently than the 80s. They also played it Saturday night in the second half
They also play Hey Fighting Tigers. Not sure what the OP is talking about

Uh they play it like all the time. It was banned for a few years in the 90s. Been playing it ever since.

No, it’s just a ghey song. Much rather them play Tower of Power or some song from Westside Story

You’ve clearly never had to play Hey Fightin Tigers 20 times in a football game or get booed by the crowd that rushed the field bc you played that instead of playing Neck

I used to listen to Hey Fightin’ Tigers and the Billy Cannon punt return on a cassette over and over again when I was five.

my tradition to start the season is on game day of game one, i crank pre game/touchdown, then Hey Fighting Tigers, then me and my kids put the flag out. They are now 25 and 22 and we did it again Saturday. I will do that as long as I can. I live outside Chicago and can't get down there for games, so I keep that tradition going as long as I can.

We weren’t allowed to play Tiger Rag when I was in the band. But oddly enough, we started playing Neck my junior year. I was in the band from 05-08 seasons. The crowd got Oh We Oh After the touchdown banned for yelling you suck… but funny enough, they made that seem G rated compared to now. My fellow students started the tomfoolery to Neck after having oh we oh banned.

It’s a great singalong song, too. Everybody knows the words. They could even invite a guest celebrity every week to lead it.
