Took swimming as an elective there also and played racket ball in the slum courts in the basement… been watching them redo it… pretty impressive brickwork… there were tons of cracks in the mortar and bricks falling.. they surgically removed bricks through the building and mortared them or very good replacements back in and matched the mortar very well… they are doing a remarkable job… was an amazing building originally and historic… very impressive preservation job!

I’m still pissed they value engineered out everything in the lawn area. Had some cool features but now it’s just grass.

Happy to see this, though I wish they had saved the pool. Spent alot of the 80s playing floor hockey in the gym and raquetball in the dungeon (and exploring the pool, etc). Longsticks forever!

No pool, no care.

But really - super neat they incorporated the pool lines into remodel of courtyard. Respect

Swam in the pool for Anchor Splash in the late 90s.

I won an event.

Huey Long did more for LSU in ten minutes than you could accomplish in a lifetime.

Had swimming class there, health classes there, and played basketball on the old court in there, including a class taught by Jay McCreary! Good old days!!!

Next, they need to finally tear down Lockett.

It's on the docket along with Middleton.

In the old days (80’s), we used to play ball hockey in that dump.
