Nothing in the contract says Frank has to be interim head coach for the bowl game

This isn’t Dawson’s Creek

Coach the game to win and move on after the season - “muh feelings” aside

Hell LSU should have declined bid.

Yeah. Because who on an LSU football forum would want to watch/attend an LSU football game.
I didn't want us to decline the bowl bid. But just because there's a football game involving LSU doesn't automatically make that event meaningful, emotionally compelling, and worth my time and energy.

It's a shite game and I doubt I'll pay much attention. And I feel the same way about cupcake games during the regular season.

Games need meaning and drama. And this ain't it.

We essentially fired the guy.

Not liking the company that fired you isn’t exactly teen drama

The 2025 team will be on the field, not the 2026 team. What don't you understand about this?

No we didn’t - we hired a new HC that can choose his assistants

Link to the part where he states this?

What are you HR?

Kiffin chose a different RB coach. which mean our current one was fired.

and he doesn’t have to say it.

it’s just the potential of human nature

I was under impression he had 1 more year to his contract.

If he announces he is leaving for OM after bowl game, that’s cause, no buy out, let him go, asap.

Fired and replaced are different in my book. CBK was fired, Frank was told he would not be kept on staff.

Has this ever happened in college football before?
Interesting flip on the Lane Kiffin concept to coach OM through the playoffs.

Does the contract require LSU to do anything other than pay him?

Value in the ball game is two weeks of practice that Kiffin can observe the players still on the roster and plan next year.

sorry, but this bowl game is utterly meaningless. It'll be played by players (many of whom will be gone next year) under the prior staff's schemes and under many of the prior staff. Next year, we'll have a new head coach who will have a new staff, new schemes, and new players. And we're 7-5 playing in a lower-tier bowl game. It's meaningless.

You forget the two most important points.

LSU and the SEC are paid to play in these bowl games and now more than ever both need the money.

Secondly, the extra time and practices for the young players that will stay are invaluable. When you’re building a program you want a culture of brotherhood not quitters that think competition is meaningless. These practices will show much about the kids that want to be there and the ones that don’t.

Let the guy finish what he was asked to step in and do under shite circumstances. It’s not going to hurt LSU. If anything taking the high road helps. The guys has done a lot for LSU. That’s over for the moment but let him go out on good terms.

Yeah, LSU could lose 70-0 and no one will give a shite once next year starts.

I don’t think Frank should coach the bowl game. Let him go. It’s not a playoff game. He’s not the real head coach. He accepted another job. Good bye. Good luck!
