Well the 4 year losing streak is concerning but overall I'm confident

LSU's O should be able to just lean on them and play ball control. I thought the same thing about the last few openers, though, so who knows?

Need to win the game. We cannot keep losing the opening game of the season. It has been 4 straight (2-Under Kelly). Cannot get to 5.

34-23 Tigers!
LSU's defense is improved, and just to deep at WR and great OL, team speed depth. In the 4th LSU pulls away. Not to mention a better than average running game. Williams, Emery, Jackson and Durham. Getting Emery back in the mix makes the RB room effective and deep. Tigers win this one going away.

This would be the perfect game to assert the OL ability to run the ball. Pass blocking has been exceptional with this group and if they can consistently run block we are going to be a very tough team to beat if the defense can demonstrate solid improvement.

Hot take. We need to win against USC or the tide will turn quickly against BK.

I’m hoping we play ball control . Run it a bunch and shorten the game. That should be our goal for entire season. Scoring won’t be a problem. But we should dictate amount of possessions against inferior opponents….

always feel really confident. Hopefully it’s a Miami type game rather than ucla
Kelly had ucla well coached and ready to play. They ran the ball all day
I'm not worried about usc doing that. If lsu doesn't win the usc game then you can forget about having a good season.

DJ Pickett will have at least 2 interceptions.

I want to see LSU run the ball early and often. I am curious to see the RB rotation.
Williams is a solid 3 down back.
Kaleb can be dangerous, especially behind this OL
Emery has flashed and is a veteran
Cade can flat out fly

Our offense should be slightly better than theirs
The difference is it'll be like every Lincoln Riley team. Throw it all over the field and try and score fast.
I think this season our main objective is to impose our will with the Oline, run the ball, throw it when it makes sense to, eat A LOT of clock and keep our D off the field as much as possible.
I give us the nod in that scenario.

Hopefully so but that will be against Clemson in 2025

USC Sucks
Tigers 45 USC 17

I don't like our record of our first games of the season. I really love our offense, and I believe the defensive coaches will be the change that we need. Tigers win, Tigers win!

quote:really? Because we lost our Heisman QB and two 1st round WRs, and our defense is still suspect.
Should beat them with ease
Now the same can be said about USC.
I think we'll win, but thinking we'll roll over USC is wishful thinking.

LSU is favored by 6 for a reason
I am also not betting on them because I have seen how grossly underprepared LSU has been in BK's two season openerers
How am I feeling...it's a game they should win but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they lost

Been thinking about this one a lot, and I just don't understand having confidence in a coach who's only able to go 8-5 with a #1 overall draft pick at QB...especially in the PAC 12. Now granted a lot of those losses weren't due to lack of performance on the offensive side of the ball, but the point still stands.
Both teams with major defensive staff overhauls in the offseason and on paper I think they look about the same as far as resume and improvements go. All things considered LSU and USC are a lot more alike than they are different. Two high powered offenses trying to pick up the pieces of abysmal defenses. (Hopefully that's no longer the case).
It'll boil down to which defense has made more progress in the offseason. A crucial stop or two, and who wins the turnover battle. All in all, I think we have more talent on both sides and a coach who's had to endure the SEC for two seasons now.
All that said give me the Tigers by a score of 42-31.

I think we play well and get a win. the defense will give up some points but the trojans aren't stopping nuss and the offense.
