Face it: $7m per year and $18m in buyouts for basically a lateral coaching hire. Jimbo lost to Houston by 14 points and never led the entire game. How dumb would he look now?

And honestly, what do you think Jimbo's record would be this year?

Is this one of these deals where we are going to see this stupid thread pop up every time Florida State loses a game in the next 5 years?

How stupid are we going to look when we lose 3 games next season because the offense is still crippled?

Being that Jimbo probably would not have coached that game it really would not look that stupid.....

Other than the whole insane amount of money being thrown at a coach to leave

Not as stupid as the deal giving Miles an extension when he was "threatening" to go to Arkansas.

A friend of mine had lunch with the AD from McNesse State, he said the money was lined up by boosters to get Jimbo, but Jimbo was the who called off the deal that Saturday am...

first time I have heard that Jimbo was the one who had a change of heart.

AD's talk, might explain the madness we witnessed.

Knowing we couldn't pull Jimbo means Alleva will have to learn to love Les...which might explain the Aranda contract happening so quickly.

It's time to start helping Les win versus helping him fail

What would have truly looked stupid would have been firing Miles and then hiring Will Muschamp. Which is the type of hire we would have settled for this year.

Maguire basically played half the season. The QB whisperer had an entire month to prepare. would Houston have an 11-1 record in the SEC west? Come on man

Probably so unfortunately.

Just like the "Les is holding us back" threads every time LSU loses a game or God forbid wins one in a fashion the rant deems unworthy.

The Rant, where every opinion counts

If Miles (as you imply) is a great coach, why was his record so avg. at OSU?

He can recruit well in a state that per captia is loaded and has no one to push him for players within the borders of La.

When he has superior talent, he is great, when coaching is a factor, he is avg.

Jimbo could run circles around miles from a coaching stand point.

Alleva did his job, the president shot him down.

How was OSU's record for the 12 years before Miles got there??

I'll hang up and listen while you figure out how to search on Google

What does this mean? LSU pays assistants more than elsewhere. It seems Les has been the one failing.

Better than they will look next year. 8 wins, however many losses, losing to Bama again, and Miles is gone this time without a top 5 type coach in the wings.
