re: How much money do I have to donate to get in position for football and baseball tickets?

a few thousand donated would probably get you some seats for the 2027 season. I had zero points and got 2 seats during the 2025 season. im just keeping them forever now though but demand for 2027 will be a lot higher than it was in 2025.

Do you have season tickets and want to move
Yes trying to get 4+ together in lower bowl next year. It seems like I was just a day or 2 late this year for more availability

There was an uptick in ticket requests when Kiffin got hired. You might have been able to get those last season.

Baseball is a different beast. I heard it is pretty tough
99% season ticket renewal rate every year. And the waiting list for that 1% is supposedly ridiculous.
I’d had my season tix at the new Box for 5 years before I was even able to add a parking pass.

I’m talking chair backs in Baseball and 200/400s in Football.
You can pretty much forget chair backs. 95% of the families sitting there have had season tickets in that location since the old Box and will never give them up. My family included. The other 5% are corporate sponsors.
As others have said, ticket availability depends on your points total. I’m among the first group given the option to purchase additional tickets and bought four in 405 this year that I plan to either give to friends/family or list a day or so before the game for what I paid so LSU fans locally will get them instead of visiting opposing fans. Or at least it’s extremely unlikely they will get them because of the last minute travel options.
There’s really no other option for you but to donate in large amounts across multiple years if you want a chance in those sections. My advice would be to purchase in the best section available and increase your yearly contributions. Put together a trust as my family did many years ago and everyone can contribute.

I have a set of season tickets in section 302 I can probably to sell you.

At this point I’m 100% totally convinced that it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars in addition to fricking Mike the Tiger in the arse and live to tell about it to get these seats in Alex Box.
There has to be a lot of corporate tickets behind home plate. I've got a wealthy buddy in Baton Rouge that hasn't been able to improve his season tickets for a couple years to get behind home plate. Granted, he's not forking over hundreds of thousands, but it's a pretty penny (I think around 100k) to get basically nothing.
ETA:
Same guy has now gotten great seats on the West side in Death Valley.

What does it take to get seats in the South or West Club? Are these tickets available online through the normal process?
I have two season tickets in the lower bowl, but have considered upgrading if/when they become available. I have mid-tier priority points.

I’m just curious. I have a son that’s going to want to start going to games soon and I kind of want to cut to the chase to get in best position, if I can afford it. Hoping and waiting probably won’t turn into anything. I’m talking chair backs in Baseball
I went through this with baseball 2 years ago. Even had lunch with the President of TAF. I was prepared to write a large check. NOPE!!
Don’t even try. The school has a 99.9% renewal rate of baseball season tix every year. They refuse to re-allocate tix. Point is, many baseball season tix are renewed every year to ticket holders who’ve been in the grave for decades or never go to games. There needs to be an increase in tix prices and a significant increase in TAF contribution. The school WILL NOT BUDGE. Coach Johnson wants a full ride scholarship for every player ($2.2M per year). That cost can be significantly covered with my plan above. NOPE!! The school is not interested.
Another poster said it well. Bank your contribution/pledge and buy online. BUT, please do what I did and make your voice heard to the TAF uppers and the school. When they realize there are enough people out there willing to pay more, then change may happen.
For those who think my plan is absurd, that is what football season tix looked like when Saban got here. When they rebuilt the upper deck and put on the Champions Club, they did exactly what I said above. I remember when it happened.

So if I pledge 25K over 5 years they will give me 125 points.
That can’t be right.
125 points would have to be enough to get decent tickets.
At some point you may just want to inquire about signing up for a suite.
It might not be your price range, but at least it will get them talking if they think you are interested in the Suite Life.

They will never price out generational season ticket holders. Nor should they and you shouldn’t want that.
If you think it’s corporate now, do this and see what happens.
