I would rather pull for the Fighting Durka Durkas than pull for the Tide.
The ONLY two circumstances in which I root for the Tide is during bowl season (obviously not last year) or when they play USC, Notre Dame, or anyone from the big ten (capitalization omitted on purpose).

Probably more. People have short memories, but I would say that Auburn is a bigger rival than Bama to us.
The re-emergence of Bama as a national contender, coupled with the fact that they have our old coach and compete with us for recruits, as well as the unbelievable mulligan that was awarded to them has really invoked a lot of hate toward them by our fan base, and for good measure.
But, if you look back at how many times we were jobbed at JHS, the pretentiousness of Tubbs, the $cam Newton saga.. it really puts things in perspective.

its not that bad here. Its one of the most beautiful states in the South with the beaches to the South and the foothills and mountains to the north. lots of resources. Do have they have backwoods rednecks? sure as do other states in the south and the Midwest.

I loathe Alabama every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year of every decade of my life. I was pissed that Auburn got left out of the NC game when they went undefeated in 2004 because I cheer for the SEC schools to be in the NC game except for Bama. I would be so damn fricking happy for them to be left out. Say Michigan, USC and Alabama go undefeated and Alabama had the toughest schedule I'd be giddy if they didn't make it, hearing ESPN talking head Herbstreit say "the eye test says Michigan and USC are the best two teams."

Honestly, I don't care much about Bama. To me, beating them is nice, but so is beating Florida and Auburn. Right now they're good, and so the game is bigger, but ... so what, I say.
I guess I don't want to become an Ole Miss type of fan, the way they could go winless except against us, and their fans would be bragging about shite.
To me, being an LSU fan is about LSU, not an opponent.

Well stated. I feel the same when I'm away from Bama. When I'm there, they feel that if you ain't with em, you must be against em. They are not shy about letting you know it either.
I try to be a good ambassador and be cordial but, sometimes, they make it so hard.
Complete strangers pull up to me when I'm out working in the yard and run smack. It's ridiculous. I fly an lsu flag on my house. Maybe it's my own fault. Lol

I have no issue with the program itself. I respect the program. It's the fan base that I'd rank somewhere around Al Qaeda.

Growing up in East Texas, my favorite bumper sticker said: I AM FOR LSU AND WHOEVER IS PLAYING NOTRE DAME. I still feel the same, but the same thing can now be said about bama. I agree that it is not as much about the program, which you have to respect, as it is the gumps. Tea bags, tree poison, rammer jammer (whatever in the hell that is), trailer park resorts. I lived in Alberville AL for one year and learned that it took years of inbreeding to develop that race of people.
