The only true reason for Kelly getting fired was fitment. It had absolutely nothing to do with winning or how he ran the program.

What a take
He has started in games both of the last two seasons*
is LSU's record against Vitello.* He's also 0-2 against Skenes and Floyd.

Fify
Tom Cruise hit .385/.467/.615 in the SEC tournament? Talk about range!
Hitting .417/.500/.750 in the 3 games in Hoover. This is who he is.

In what scenario was he not going to be fully rested?
Almost definitely not. Wake Forest just too strong in RPI.

Using some young players does not make the team young. Every school uses freshmen.

Our experience is a huge strength. Whatever issues we’ve had today should not be blamed on “we’re young.” Older, veteran players have made the mistakes today, with the exception of Hurd, who kind of is what he is at this point.

The team is not young. The team has a ton of experience. And Jobert, our worst base runner, is a 22 year-old redshirt junior.

But their 12th and 13th round picks are HS kids too. Presumably expect to have to offer them more too to realistically sign them right?

Presumably, yes. But just hypothetically, just showing the maximum they *could* offer Noot

Can someone do the updated math for noot?

Plagiarizing thunderbird1100 a little, but:

Brewers have $7,070,900 total bonus pool for the top 10 rounds. So far they have signed:
1st rounder - $2.05M (slot $2.7M) = Saved $650k
2nd rounder - $2.35M (slot $1.13M) = Over by $1.22M
CB-B rounder - $800k (slot $915k) = Saved $115k
3rd rounder - $598k (slot 601k) = Saved $3k
4th rounder - $348k (slot $449k) = Saved $101k
6th rounder - $100k (slot $260k) = Saved $160k
7th rounder - $97k (slot $204k) = Saved $107k
8th rounder - $168k (slot $171k) = Saved $3k
9th rounder - $158k (slot of $158k) = $0
10th rounder - $100k (slot $150k) = Saved $50k

So right now they have spent $6.77M of their bonus money leaving them with *roughly* $305k left.

They still are trying to sign their 5th rounder, which has a slot of $335k

That's $335k left of slot value with $305k in bonus pool money. The pick is a college 4th year, so not much leverage. Even if he signs for just $100k, the Brewers would have just $205k to spend on top of the $125k you can pay a 19th round guy. Remember they can also go 5% over their bonus allotment, which would bring in another $350k. So if they sign the 5th round pick for even just $100k, the most they could give Noot is about $680k.

Also worth noting that MLB.com is not showing the 4th round signing as finalized. Thunderbird1100 shows the number as $348k, but I cannot confirm that anywhere yet. Remember all these numbers are approximations.

If Noot is willing to go pro for $680k, gotta shrug your shoulders - he never wanted to come to school. That feels unlikely.

They won’t pay porter that much will they?

The Athletic is reporting Porter will sign for $3.7M. Basically the Rocker savings.
USM came in with the second best ERA in the country. We will legit bitch about anything.

If we beat Arkansas when we play, and we finish with the same record who gets the tiebreaker?

Arkansas would have the tiebreaker, which after head-to-head record (hypothetically would be 1-1) is record against the 1 seed. Assuming it's Auburn, Arkansas would have us covered.

If Kiffin is undefeated going into Tuscaloosa.

Louisville, Austin Peay, Tulane... he sure better be undefeated.
Would *guess* night with Alabama-Ole Miss in the 2:30 slot. A&M-State could also end up in that 2:30 slot. Not a clear front-runner looking at that week's games.
