LSU can say the same thing. That’s why none of us know why a kid is missing a game. Like it’s been said before, we don’t suspend players for their first offense.
LSU is not the only place where people fail drug tests and ultimately have to leave. Alabama’s program is bigger than any one player so if some of you think that Nick Saban is going to cry over one kid who can’t get his act together, you’re mistaken.
It’s not like we are losing all of our top players every year due to weed and it certainly isn’t what’s keeping us from winning championships.
Alabama out recruits everyone. The guys that go there want to compete and win championships and secure their future in the NFL. Saban praised their team this year for how committed they were with the covid protocols having very few people who had to miss. That was a choice they made by committing to doing what it takes to win. It had nothing to do with having no fear of getting a weed suspension. In all fairness, it seemed like LSU had very few people miss also.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't having anything toxic in your lungs causes you to be short winded and out of breath faster? I'm pretty sure that when a kid is being recruited by any schools the do's and dont's of each institution is explained to the kid and what the penalties are for breaking the rules.

And I thought the OP was stupid.

If being able to smoke weed is literally the difference in a kid’s decision on whether or not to go to NFLU, then don’t try to tell me that weed isn’t addictive.

Are you telling me Nick Saban is ok with his players smoking weed? I don't believe that for a second... maybe I am naive...
You are naive. Saban will do whatever it is to win. In the end that man does not give a shite about his players unless it affects his ability to win.

We win 2012 with Mathieu.
No one will ever convince me that LSU wouldn’t have beaten Alabama that season with Mathieu in the game. He would’ve blown up that screen pass to TJ Yeldon.

if they were able to smoke weed?
Why stop there? Let them do crack, X, and heroin. You do know it is illegal?

Absolutely he is. Look at the two kids with the gun charges in north Louisiana a couple years back. Saban doesn’t have any morals he is just the best bull shitter in recent college football history. Do you really think he gives af about those kids? He only cares about the W.

its banned bc it poses serious health risks...but who cares about the kids as long as we win the national title.

Better question is how many more championships and #1 recruiting rankings if Brees signed with Miami vs New Orleans.

Nobody tells recruits “come here and we will let you get away with smoking weed.”
of course the coaches don't tell the recruits that but word gets around among the recruits that LSU cracks down and hands out suspensions for stuff like that while most other schools will let that slide. You got to be very naive if you think that doesn't hurt recruiting.

that is just dumb and so out of touch with the world we live in. And yes, being able to smoke weed can literally be the difference in a kids decision on whether to sign with LSU or not.

how about not smoking it since it’s illegal
Not a big deal for regular students, but athletes will get tested, so just don’t freaking do it.
Is smoking weed more important to these kids than playing ball?
