How many more championships and #1 recruiting rankings if they were able to smoke weed?

Why can't we get with The Times like the other schools and let this happen.

I blame the Ryan Perriloux incident for this

This guy had wayyy more issues than smoking weed.

ETA:

I see what you're saying. We clamped down after him.

Maybe possible, but Bahnsen has been a bitch since birth, so I am not sure.

It’s apparent that our compliance goes out of its way to find problems. We’ll see how much that helps us when the football and basketball penalties come down.

Best was when Saban told Bo to leave my football team alone and he did

This would literally not have won us any more championships or #1 recruiting rankings. Nobody tells recruits “come here and we will let you get away with smoking weed.” If you think we need guys who want weed so badly that they choose it over their athletic careers, then you are mistaken on what it takes to win championships and you’re not very bright.

Are you telling me Nick Saban is ok with his players smoking weed?

I don't believe that for a second... maybe I am naive...

he's old school....he doesn't like it one bit but may he looks the other way and makes sure admin stays out?

dunno

So instead of blaming players with no self-control who can't avoid something illegal to begin with, you blame the system that semi-holds them accountable.

You realize a single time popping for weed at LSU doesn't get you suspended.

Its takes like yours why these kids have no respect for anything and are honestly becoming more and more cowardly every day.

Blame Bobby Jindal for pushing legislation making synthetic weed banned from LA while other states treat it like a misdemeanor...

Tyrann was the most game changing player in college football, and if he plays in 2012 LSU wins it all.

I love the Honey Badger, but he had more problems than weed back then. I'm pretty sure he would tell you that weed was just a symptom of his issues at that time. His getting kicked off the team was his wake up call, and kudos to him for getting his life straight. While it's easy to play hypothetical and blame LSU's policies and say that had he played, LSU would have won this or that or what not, maybe he realized that the problem wasn't the policy but his own reasons for needing to violate them.

How much more money in our bank accounts and cars in our garages and trips to Cancun and guns in our vaults if we were able to rob and steal?
America should get with the times.

Maybe not in those exact words but I'm pretty confident that others negative recruit against LSU based on the risk of suspension. They may say it more along the lines that they expect accountability but prefer to handle things in house. The message is the same, go to LSU and fear suspensions, which can potentially affect NFL draft position, or come here and we'll make sure that you make it to the draft with a clean record.
