Staley and Mulkey get along fine. Staley does not have to try to tear down LSU now for Carolina to be a top program. Carolina is already and has been for several years, a top 5 national program.
LSU has the #1 recruiting class for 2023 but Carolina is #2 and has stockpiled talent for the last several years. Carolina in WBB is going to continue to contend in the SEC and nationally as long as Staley is there.
The LSU-Carolina WBB rivalry which is one-sided for the last decade should become more interesting than it has been lately.
Note: Staley is 3-2 vs Mulkey's teams in their 5 meetings (Baylor and LSU). Carolina has beaten LSU in WBB 14 straight times.

Staley HAS NOT earned the right to baselessly attack LSU as she did over Fargas’s departure from LSU.
She’s earned every bit of it from LSU fans.

Why does Coach Staley live rent free in some of this fan bases' head is astounding to me. Last I check, we got drummed by SoCarolina on national TV when we had the opportunity to face them this year. They caught a scorching hot Clark at the wrong time in the tourney and lost. Everyone with the ability to watch WBB this season knew that SoCarolina was the team to beat. Staley hasn't said anything bad about LSU, so I doubt that she will. SHE IS THE STANDARD. GENO IS THE STANDARD. Deal with it. All we need to do is keep winning, and that will cure all, until we aren't liked similar to SoCarolina and UCONN.

I see this taken out of context a lot. Staley said nothing about Kim. She said that if Nikki was supported like we did with Kim, things may have been different in terms of the outcome. Fan support. The comment literally was based on fan support. We all know that Fargas fell short of alot of our aspirations of more Ws...and that's where the fan engagement declined...but the Staley said something racist about LSU and Kim is a tired pile of sharte.

This is the sort of garbage post that leads to the problems with misinformation that we have today. People are going to take away from this that Staley actually has accused Mulkay of cheating. The OP is trying to get himself pissed off about a hypothetical because there aren’t enough real things to be pissed about.

She essentially implied LSU fans racist because they wouldn't support Fargas like they have Mulkey...conveniently forgetting Fargas's teams perpetually underachieved until her last one was just down right bad. Of course, that's not off brand for Staley who cancelled a game at BYU based solely upon FALSE allegations of racism by BYU fans at a volleyball game. Not only did the (false) act occur in a game not involving South Carolina in any way, it didn't even occur in the same sport!
That's (at least) two instances where she disparaged entire fanbases on racist agenda's that didn't exist...at least from the fans whom she implied were racist.
She has been successful as a player and coach on her own merit. No one can deny that. But she represents much of what is wrong with society today. She happily virtue signals to foster division along racial lines where such division should otherwise not exist. BYU fans didn't hurl racist remarks at a black volleyball player (there was no evidence whatsoever other than the uncorroborated statement of the Duke player), and LSU fans weren't racist simply because they didn't support bad basketball. Yet, that didn't stop Staley from disparaging fans of both schools.
