BK was too damned lazy to get an O coordinator.

Because he was good at one thing and that was selling his QB coaching skills which also suck. He had little to nothing to do with JDs development but he has no problem taking the credit.

Name one other QB who he developed in his entire career? Note that JD was a 4th year starter when he came to LSU and not some freshman.

When was the last time an LSU receiver caught a ball mid stride? Every fricking pass is a 3 yard hitch route, and half of those passes are overthrown or in coverage. Our offense is completely pathetic.

I don’t think Sloan is the WORST coordinator, I think he’s just meh. Joe Sloan as a coordinator is basically a mid to lower level starting QB in the NFL. He's good enough to be functional, he’ll make some really good play calls here and there and he’s decent enough for it not to be a disaster most of the time but in no way, shape or form does he elevate you at all, which is not something that should ever be the case at LSU.

Talk about delusional. The man is awful and one of the worst OCs in the country. His awfulness is only partly hidden by the amount of talent on this team.

Wow. How absurd to think he is mid tier.

‘JimmyCricket” you comment about Sloan makes him worse than meh. Sounds like he could be a high school play caller not major college. Sounds like he is the problem. LSU needs a change now, if Kelly stays then Sloan gotta go, Now.

Equally awful is the utilization of offensive skill players. Watch any SEC game and you know who their go-to players are. Who are ours. A different receiver leads in targets watch week. Guys appear and disappear. No rhyme or reason to the RB workload. Berry should get all of Johnson's work at this point. It is a dart board if plays but also players

I thought everybody knew the two main reasons:

1) Recruitment of Bryce Underwood

When that failed, it became:

2) Consistency with the development of Garrett Nussmeier who had already had 2 different coordinators in Jake Peetz and Mike Denbrock and thought was that Sloan could continue from Nuss' QB coach to Nuss' coordinator.

This also failed.

Sloan straight fricking sucks as a play caller.

Dude, he straight up sucks as a play designer. His route trees make no sense, his blocking schemes on running plays don't work, and he has the worst red zone offense I have ever witnessed in over 50 years of watching football.

It is beyond pathetic.

He has all the tools outside of a mobile QB. His scheme doesn’t work!

It’s not Davis
It’s not Hankton
It’s Sloan scheme and play calling abilities. Great QB coach and recruiter tho!

Because he was Underwood’s shining knight and top recruiter until he wasn’t.

Tbob came out and said, I don’t know if it’s true, but he said that bk wanted to make joe Sloan co-oc when denbrock was here and denbrock wasn’t having it so he left. Take it with a grain of salt.

Supposedly, he was Underwood's whisperer, but we see how that turned out. He needs to go back to LaTech.

The offense, while not great last season, wasn't "bad" either. It was a top 20 unit in total offense. That said, there were some glaring weaknesses that needed to be addressed ahead of this season. First and foremost, the running game. Second, the RZ offense. Third, better efficiency in the passing game.

It was VERY clear, probably in the Clemson game, but at least by the end of the Florida game that they didn't address any of the weaknesses from last year. So clear that a reporter asked BK about it.

Hindsight is 20/20. House's defense in 2022 wasn't "bad", so there was no reason to expect the massive dropoff in 2023. Same for Sloan. There was no reason to expect the massive dropoff this season. But what we are coming to learn in 4 years of BK is that he is not proactive. He's not addressing the weaknesses before hand, or even during the season. He just fixes them after the fact...which has led to a revolving door of inconsistencies and missed chances.

He has no answer or adjustments. He’s trotting out the same 8 plays since game one and expecting different result.

Name a game where schemed up a defense?

His run plays are the same as if Daniels is still the qb. Thats how much he’s adjusted

2 words: Bryce Underwood

but why not just keep him as a qb coach and go out and get a real OC? This was clear from last year that he wasnt cut out for the OC role, especially for the year that was supposed to be BK's show out year.

Wtf are you talking about? Nuss hit Barion Brown on a ridiculous throw but there was a hold on Weston Davis.

Then we ran the ball. So lets not make false claims.
