Our OL is deeper and more talented in 2008 than its been in a good while. It's young to be sure, but not as inexperienced as last year overall and I thought they looked great at years end
How do you figure, you lost your two best olinemen, Adams and Velasco. You are moving a DT to OT. How does this equal more talented? To me, it seems like the oline will be LESS talented.

and most importantly our DEFENSE.
Those corners weren't very good at all last year. The LBs aren't very good. The dline is the strength but you lost your best pass rusher in Marcus Howard.

Adams and Velasco were our ONLY 2 experienced OL entering 2007. (They also weren't our "best" OL) NO ONE ELSE HAD EVER PLAYED. This year UGA returns 3 (4 depending on how you look at it) starters and 3-4 experienced backups.
So:
2007 - 2 Starters return, no one else had ever played
2008 - 3 starters return, 4 others with playing time return.
Pretty simple there buddy..7 OL with game experience are better than 2.
3 starters are better than 2.
And we aren't moving a DT to OT this year..he was moved last year (Kiante Tripp) as a True Freshman he played in 8 games last year as a reserve OT.

Not to mention your team celebrating on the center of Vandy's field after (that was embarrassing for UGA). This was the same team that was being praised for their victory over Hawaii. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves Dogs...
I don't really see any other reasons as to how LSU will win this game

Exactly, and they calmed the ship in the storm. Velasco was the "glue" and now he is gone.

They have ONE YEAR of experience. It's not like they return 4 or 5 upperclassmen. Just because they are returning doesn't mean they will be really good.
Furthermore, the leadership left, you must replace your center with a guy with ZERO experience and you have moved a defensive player to RT (that can certainly work, but I would hesitate to claim that this player would be more talented than Adams).

I'm willing to bet the majority have never attended a single class at LSU, go figure.

I don't think they will.

They are all better than last year..when they played with ZERO EXPERIENCE. As I said having 6/7 OL who have played a game before is better than having 2..that's the difference in 2007 and 2008.
Going in 2007 we could count on:
Velasco, Adams
Going into 2008 that list includes:
Sturdivant (13 starts), C Davis (13 starts), Boling (11 starts), J Davis (8 games played), K Tripp (8 games played), Vince Vance (11 games played), K Perez (5 games played)

Our center last year was a converted Guard who had never played Center and had started at Guard for 1 year. Our Center this year will be a converted guard who has never played center and started at Guard for 1 year.

Our starting RT is Kiante Tripp. He played in 8 games at RT for UGA last year. He has never played a down on defense for us. You can repeat it as much as you want but we aren't moving a defensive player to RT.
Our OL is young, but it is overall more experienced and more talented in 2008 than in 2007. It's not even questionable.
I'm not claiming we have a good OL situation, I'm not claiming it's gonna be a dominant OL, but things are better this year than last.

Why havent you answered any of the questions about your team? Why is UGA so much better than LSU?? Both teams have about the same amount of talent on both sides. I would argue LSU has a little more overall talent. Home field advantage typically makes up the difference.
Posted on 8/11/08 at 12:37 pm to DallasDawg
I for one did not say that. I think it will be close, similiar to 03.

Not being able to see how the defending National Champs can beat Georgia at Baton Rouge is highly unreasonable.
You guys are buying too much into the media hype of Georgia. You haven't earned a #1 ranking. So leave your arrogance at home.
Better O-line, better D-line, better skill position players, better O Coordinator + playing at night at Death Valley = win for LSU.

If that's the last you heard, then you obviously don't know what he's doing, so it would be bullshite that he is probably flipping burgers.
