A better question is why the hell do people think UGA will be so good and what exactly makes you think they can beat LSU in BR????

UGA lost their two best olinmen (Adams, Velasco) and will be moving a DT to RT. Will the line be as good as it was last year? Will this line be able to stand up to LSU's dline, one of the nation's best?

Will Asher Allen and Prince Miller improve as the starting CBs? Will they be able to hang with Demetrius Byrd, Brandon LaFell, and Terrance Toliver (lemme answer that...no).

Who will replace Marcus Howard? Will the dline be anywhere near as good without his speed rush disrupting the timing of opposing offenses? Will UGA's dline stand up to LSU's dominating oline?

"I'm really not that concerned about LSU this year."

...perhaps you should be....I would be very concerned if LSU was traveling to UGA, so I don't know if the above statement was made out of ignorance or stupidity. I tell you what you can do.....toss that UGA "Dawg" into Mike's cage, and then we'll see that BIG CAT EAT!!!

1)LSU has talent equal to or better than UGA's, this is evidenced by the fact that more LSU players were picked to be All SEC. I expect us to dominate this game on BOTH lines of scrimmage.

2)It's a home game for LSU. UGA is more likely to get rattled by the noise and crowd leading to more penalties, turnovers etc. And LSU is more likely to play better in front of it's home fans.

3) Ricky Jean-Francois is UNBLOCKABLE !!

UGA might have 2 losses coming into that game, so I think that LSU is just as good as those teams the dawgs might lose to.

OK then, make your case for how UGA wins.

Kind of like the '03 game, Stafford (and whoever his back-up is) will be running for his life from the LSU D-line like Greene & Shockley were.

The UGA running game is just as over-rated this year as in '03, and will be effective, but not uncontrolable.

The LSU offense won't be dominant, but will score enough to make the difference.

Plus, the UGA kicker will have a meltdown with 90,000+ screaming at him every time he lines up.

LSU 24, UGA 17--and that's if the game is played in the afternoon. Heaven help UGA if the game kicks at night.

Pretty simple: We win the battle in the trenches, Louisiana has better athletes, and we have better coaches.

UGA is 1-3 in Btr........

You play UF the week after LSU.
I'm sure the staff is looking at the USC and Tenn. games where UGA scored 12 and 14 pts.
UGA returns a bunch, a couple spots on the OL, I'd look there.
As they get a few games under their belt, I'll take a closer look.
Special teams is another place to look with the loss of the kicker Coutu.
LSU controls both lines.
CMR always drops a couple hes not suppose to, hope we are one of them.
They have given us some board material with all the talk from last year.

Gonna be a great game.

I have been on your Dawg post board and you shouldn't even bring up attending class.so I guess if you didn't go to LSU you can't follow LSU football??? I live 30 min NW of Atlanta and I know 2 people that went to UGA and 70% of my friends are UGA fans GO FIGURE.

Yeah, no kidding. I think your rantards pretty much dominate the board. I'm willing to bet the majority have never attended a single class at LSU, go figure.

I'm really not that concerned about LSU this year. I don't think we'll blow you guys out, but I don't think it's going to be very close either.

You sound like a 'dogtard',maybe one that has turned white after a while. I guess all Georgia posters on message boards have PhD's.

As A UGA fan I think LSU has a great shot of beating us in Baton Rouge. The following are my concerns:

1) LSU might have the best DL we've faced in a few years (although AU in 2007 was pretty good). If they can stuff the run and create pressure without having to blitz or involve the safeties we're in trouble.

2) Tiger Stadium at night will be a new experience for our team. More hostile than any place Stafford, Moreno, and the rest of our relatively young team have played.

3) LSUs OL is big, experienced, and talented...we're a bit small at LB. Can they run right at us?

Now the things that make me think we've got a good chance to win:

1) Our OL is deeper and more talented in 2008 than its been in a good while. It's young to be sure, but not as inexperienced as last year overall and I thought they looked great at years end.

2) Stafford has shown the ability, at times, to make teams pay for playing run first defense. With the addition of AJ Green and the hopeful improvement of some of the other young WRs this should only be more true.

3) Knowshon Moreno. Badmouth him all you want LSU fans, but this kid is legit. If you can't stop him (and he's the best RB you've faced in years not named McFadden) you're in deep trouble.

and most importantly our DEFENSE.

As I mentioned, our size at LB concerns me some, but I have a great deal of faith in our defenses ability to keep us in games with anyone in any venue. All in all, I look for this to be alot more like the 2003 game in Baton Rouge than the last time we met in Atlanta. Not to say that we can't win, just saying it'll be very close and will take our teams best effort in years to do so.

fricking Georgia fans. Georgia blows out a vastly overrated Hawaii, the media jumps on the bandwagon, awards them with a paper only #1 preseason ranking, and Georgia fans wonder how the defending National Champion can beat them.

Son, LSU has earned it's place atop College Football. Show a little respect.

Next, why don't you ask the SEC coaches why they voted more LSU players on the preseason all SEC teams than any other team. By far.

And if you don;t think LSU can score on Georgia's defense...keep in mind that first year Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton set an LSU record for points-per-game. With a fiarly inexperienced QB.

Nice post, but not sure about your #3...Moreno's legit, but not better than Wells, or the Auburn duo of Brown and Williams. At least not at this point.

Those guys are all great backs. Not gonna disrespect them and say he's for sure better. Just gonna say at this point he's in the same class. But I don't expect any LSU fans to agree until he's performed well against your team (and I think he will). He's the best RB we've had at UGA in 25 years...and we've had some good ones in that time.

I'm a pretty objective fan. Which is why I said: at this point. He hasn't proven yet that he is on that level. He definitely shows a ton of promise, but time will tell in the end. an injury or many things could deter that. Every school has had players that looked all world and for one reason or another didn't pan out. Its a wait and see approach. By the way, one of my favorite pro RBs of all time is TD, so, no hate here.
