I've been out of the CFB loop for quite some time. Someone fill me in.

I see they're unranked. I know they were reasonably formidable in years past, but if I recall, I think they've slid as of late (?). Weren't they pretty bad last year?

Where would they fall in a ranking of the Big 10? What about a ranking of all 119 (?) teams? Not that rankings mean much...just looking for a gauge.

Tell me about this non-Barry Alvarez/Bret Beliema coach of there's. Where'd he come from? What's his MO?

Also, what are their strengths / weaknesses, and where are the favourable match-ups for LSU?

Sorry...been tied up for a while. Just wondering how worried I need to be on Saturday.

They're not uber talented but they are fundamentally sound and like to pound the rock. Don't expect them to roll over. It won't be like 2014 though, the talent gap has widened between LSU and Wisky and we should win by at least 2 scores.

What I've heard is that the vaunted "Rush Attack" they usually have has been lacking since Melvin Gordon.

Their defense has been phenomenal, thanks to Aranda, but now uh... well, you know.

Way below LSU in talent, 4 out of 5 starting linemen are sophmores, great running back, shitty qb situation, and good defense.

Team full of gym rats. Coaches on the field that bring their lunch pales to work.

Not really.

10-3 last year. Should have been 11-2, but got one absolutely stolen against Northwestern (think Dez Bryant type catch.)

Beat USC in the Holiday Bowl.

The Badgers aren't ranked, but I strongly believe they're a better team than they were to end last year when they were rankey. The OLine solidified well last year and they're a year more experienced. The D front seven will be very good. WRs aren't going to blow anyone away but will be solid, I believe. TE will be a strength. QB will be a lot like WR, serviceable. Corners will be good. The only considerable question mark, I believe, is at the safety position, particularly FS.

I believe the reason they're not ranked (believe they're 28th, give or take) is due to the schedule. Ultimately no one, particularly outside our fan base, thinks they'll do better than 6-6 or 7-5 due to the schedule. I think most are ranking them strongly based on expectations.

Like one poster said, we'll see in a couple days.

And probably 11-2 if Stave doesn't trip on Kapoi's foot and fumble the ball on 2 & goal at the 1 against Iowa.

Young team. LSU has the experience factor (more upper classmen).

Wisconsin is a substance team more than a flash team.

In their last game Wisconsin defeated Southern Cal, who plays 'Bama on Saturday. Yet, USC starts the year higher ranked and lost more starters than Wisconsin.

Defense will be solid (best scoring defense in nation last year). Returns a lot of starters and contributors. New DC, who replaced Aranda, came from USC. He is well thought of, thus far, and will have some innovative 30-front concepts Aranda has not seen.

Head Coach (offensive mind) was at the San Diego Chargers for many years (QB coach) and was the OC for Wisconsin when QB Russell Wilson set records. Was HC at Pitt before Wisconsin.

SR QB Bart Houston was a 4-star recruit from Concord De La Salle in California (college injury history but big time arm)...Concord=perennial HS power like Hoover, AL.

Expect the game to be like the Houston TX game in 2014. RB Cory Clement (4-star New Jersey HS player), when healthy, is a big-time back and will break tackles and take it to the house (see bowl game against Auburn).

Wisconsin will not roll over.

A key will be LSU's interior 3 versus Badger Samoan NG (340 lbs.) Olive Sagapolu
Who stuffs the double team so LBs make the tackle.

How quickly does the LSU defense transition to Aranda's defense and eliminate mental errors and communication problems? Usually it takes a year where guys are reacting and not thinking their way through things.

Most importantly, will be competitive. Should be a fun atmosphere!!!

Prediction:
OT - LSU 27. Wisconsin 24

I tend to think QB is a HUGE question mark.

I could only guess they are better than Appalachian St. They, the Tigers, better play well and take care of business. I believe Tenn will come back after they get their butts chewed at half time.

The Gold Sheet has Wisconsin as one of their Key Picks with LSU winning 21-20. Basically said Wisc is a lot better than people think and will be a close game. Mentioned our injuries on DL and LB which will let them run. Same thing we all know that Harris will have to elevate his game. 19 of 21 of Wisc most recent losses have been under 10 points. Not that they are always right but their picking Wisc as one of the best four games to play surprised me.

That's true for sure. LSU will need to be as good as advertised to win easily.
