At first we thought Kentucky was just really that bad but the reality seems different. Is the SEC hyper competitive or is Georgia just fraudulent ?

I think UGA has some offensive issues. UT is probably on another level compared to everyone this year.

All of the above... it's really hard to play on the road in the SEC. Especially early season. Every team plays their best and worst games somewhere throughout the schedule, even great teams are susceptible to bad performances. So UGA didn't play their best, like we didn't play our best. Last week it was Kentucky. It's also still early and teams are figuring out their identity. SC was a quality win because we went on the road in a tough environment, went down by 17 after getting punched in the mouth and got off the mat to find a way to win. Was it pretty, no, but a W is a W no matter how you get it.

You can't just say UT without clarifying. I'll reserve judgments on both though til they get into SEC play.

College GameDay was in Columbia, and a ranked SEC team coming to town made it a big deal for USCe. They hit us hard early on, and we didn't play well, but never quit, and found a way to win. And in SEC road games, that's all you have to do, I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss.

College football is a game of emotion, Georgia players thought they just needed to show up, Kentucky players were wounded and playing the number one ranked team in the country at home.

Honestly, probably an off game by Georgia. We will find out a lot when UGA plays at Bama here soon, but they have a great coach and great talent so.........and when OM plays both SC and KY before playing us, will tell us more.

agreed.....all these teams like OM and Tenn destroying inferior competition...you can bet that will change once they start getting into the teeth of the Schedule.

Glad we won against UscE.

But we are way more talented than them. We should have not killed them but by more than three.

Horrible mistakes kind of nullifies the Any Given Day in the SEC moniker.

We were horrible.

Sometimes when two teams play similarly with emphasis on being physical, ball control, field position, etc., it ends up being a close, low-scoring game. It used to be somewhat common in the SEC. That's the way some games were with Miles. Iowa has had a lot of those types of games over the years. I wouldn't read too much into that in the sense of comparing scores and transitivity. It was a really good game for Kentucky. Going back a couple weeks, there might've been some looking beyond South Carolina, ahead to Georgia.
And sometimes there's just some inexplicabilty and unpredictability, especially for night games.

Not at all. It's more about how we looked than who we beat. UGA doesn't have much margin for error. If they don't play well it can be ugly. When they do play well, no one beats them.

UGA struggling has nothing to do with the poor quality of play and coaching I saw from LSU.

It doesn’t.

For whatever reason, Georgia really struggles at Kentucky.
Not sure why

They showed a graphic during the game that in all of Kirby’s wins, the 2 games where Georgia had the fewest points were both at Kentucky. Now it’s probably his 3 lowest scoring wins.

NIL has changed the game - I think anyone can win now. It's not UGA and Bama anymore. Even Tulane, SMU and Norther ILL can get a big win now and then.

What surprised me the most was how much kentucky was able to run on Georgia. If kentucky had a decent QB they win that game easily. But the way their line was able to open holes in the run game was very surprising.

Georgia always has a couple games like this against a much lesser team . They only flex against ranked teams

Yep, coaches like Kirby will get conservative on the road sometimes especially when facing an offense as anemic as Kentucky. 24 pass attempts was UGAs lowest so far this season, he was fine with not turning the ball over and winning the game in the second half. Like you said we’ve seen this with him just about every season at some point. The thing is he can play this way and win, we can’t so making the transitive comparison the OP is asking about doesn’t apply.

This. Exactly this. South Carolina played a great game. It will probably be one of their best games all season in terms of execution. They were lights out and if their QB doesn't go down they probably win. But he did go down and they didn't win.

LSU got dropped kicked in the face and still found a way to sneak out of a very hostile Williams-Brice with a W. This is the SEC so you should already know how weird things can get, especially on the road. This win might be a harbinger for bad things to come or it might've been an early season SEC road game against a decent team. We'll see.
