FWIW, football is not bigger in Texas. I have always heard that high school football is huge here but I haven't experienced it. But as far as college football, they don't do it like we do.

i have lived in texas for 6 years now and have learned that many texans, possibly the majority of natives have an incredibly enlarged (and blind) perception about anything texas. this perception is taken advantage of by marketers who give the impression that the product they are selling is "made in texas by texans and just for texans". and the locals eat it up. i have met some that have stated that they have never been beyond the state border and do not care to because "everything" is bigger and better in texas. it is very much like brain washing. there are a lot of good things about texas but i'm so damn tired of the blatant loud mouthed arrogant pretensious sons of b%(*$$chs that i have to get away a lot (i'm retired and we're moving when the wifey does). there are some nice educated and well traveled folks here but there is a preponderence of undereducated mindless airheads that can't shut up about texas. personally, i hope they DO secede from the union like many over here advocate. then i'm moving back to the united states where i belong, not texico.

and, the worst are the ring-wearing cult members.......aTm. These people are straight-up fricking weirdos. Its nuts when I find the UT crowd far more tolerable and cool.
Honestly, whether you agree or not, it comes down to view points: UT is a bit more liberal and aTm is hardcore conservative/Tea Partyish.

1) I didn't say shite to this woman. She came into my office and started shite.
2) It's Baton Rouge and I've been wearing an LSU polo on Fridays for 10 years. It's not new news that I'm a fan.
3) She's also fat, ugly and I'm pretty sure she hates black folks. Her kids look at me like I'm an alien when they stop by the office. I've also caught her telling someone in the office that I couldn't be trusted because you just never know. Never know what? I've been here over 10 years and am a fricking engineer. She's a secretary. If anything I need to lock my office from her when I leave.

I am tired of people I work with saying how "you haven't seen football til' you have been at DKR in Austin, or Kyle Field in CS."
I finally got a coworker to the LSU-Ole Miss game last year...and he is a changed man.
trying to explain how much better LSU/SEC football is than the Big 12 is generally a waste of my time. The homers here don't get it...they don't follow the SEC as closely...they think we are all cheaters and that's it. Nothing more.
