We were playing for championship a year ago. How could BK and House not see this coming?

It would be like buying a Porsche but the previous owner replaced the engine and transmission with Honda civic parts. Then you go to a junk yard and rob parts off a totaled Porsche that may or may not work and a driver and pit crew that have a questionable track history. On race day, you lose one of your pit guys, several parts break on the car and by mid race, you realize your parts are low quality, your pit crew doesn’t know shite and your driver has no idea how to drive a stick.

Perfect storm:

-lost DL coach
-house stopped making quality 2nd half adjustments
-other def position coaches not up to snuff (lack of technique & fundamentals)
-none of our secondary transfers worked out (except Zy, hurt)
-difficult schedule
-failed to maximize hp4 (and other teams schemed around)
-lost too much experience from last year
-overall level of talent not up to LSU standards

I’m expecting many of these issues to be addressed this off-season (among others) and a big improvement in 2024. Probably won’t be elite but I’m expecting good/solid/competitive.

CBK has fielded many excellent defenses over the course of his career, I expect no different here.

You hit on all the points. It's nice to see someone that's objective and realizes it was the perfect storm. Next years team may be better than this years team. CBK's #1 goal in the offseason is to convince Wingo and Smith to return.

Wrong.

Talent is a factor this year, but pretending that’s the main issue is inaccurate. When schools like Tulane can hold your opponents to fewer points than you, how can you pretend it’s mainly a talent issue?

House and is inability to scheme with what he has is pathetic. That’s issue A, B, and C

This has been about lack of quality depth. You have guys like Toviano you want to bring in slowly as well as other like Weeks. Those guys should be playing special teams only and getting some plays here or there. They were simply not ready.

With that House didn’t just run a base defense sooner which is his fault.

DL Coach
Greg Brooks - Team Captain and responsible for communication with DBs
JK Johnson - lost in fall camp
Alexander - Lost
Chestnut - played 2games
Wingo - didn’t play versus Bama

Nah not wrong at all

When you get pushed around, get no pressure and you can’t tackle that’s a personnel problem

This isn’t jr high football

Using our best pass rusher in coverage definitely isn't helping

Speaking of a bad defense;

So IF House “leaves to pursue outside opportunity” what is the likely timing?
Will it be post A&M/Pre Bowl?

Or perhaps after early ESD?

Exactly. There’s quite few 4 stars and some 5 star players on defense. He never adjusted to the talent on D and instead tried to fit the current defense into his scheme hence a mediocre product

Lost tip 5 cbs on the team. Take bama or ugas top 4 at cb1/2 and stud nickel captain off the team.

They'd prob suck in secondary too

Worse case trifecta: 1. Poor coaching, 2. Key injuries, 3. Drop in overall player talent.

Game after game after game it is obvious the House can't scheme. Offenses are running basic game plans and beating us because we usually sit in one look all game and nothing else.

Entire offensive line shifts to one side? Our players don't move. Then the offense has 5 guys blocking 2 or 3. It is just basic shite like this every damn week. That is on the DC all the way.
