The rabble here will anoint him their God because he pushed a bad LSU team around, but his team sure as frick didn’t do that to Texas or Miami. Even with him closer to his best today, there’s still better and younger on the market.
And LSU had been getting pushed around by Alabama for years.

Two things can be true

1. His time at LSU was over
2. CBK was a jerk who did him wrong

Consensus was that moffitt needed to go, if but as a change of scenery. Fitting nevertheless.

Mr. "Comfortable, Coasting and DGAF" also retained Brad Davis, didn't retain Greg McMahon, promoted Joe Sloan to OC and hired Matt House as DC.

2 bad years under Coach O’s epic fall doesn’t negate Raymond’s multiple years of being great

It was more than just those two seasons. Remember all of the recruiting fails? He definitely had wins with Stingley and Ricks, but look how thin the rest of the room got his last few seasons. Guys like Flott, Ward and McGlothern were projects who took a while to develop, but all were forced into action before they were ready because of how thin we were.

Raymond’s recruiting since he returned has lapped what he was doing from 2018-21. It’s not even close. He’s landed multiple high level CB recruits and some really strong portal additions. He completely rebuilt the room from one of the worst defenses we’ve ever seen in two years.

We all know Raymond is an elite CB coach and recruiter. But for whatever reason, we weren’t getting his absolute best before he was let go. We are now.

It may not have been the good decision by BK to let him go in retrospect, but it ended up working out the best for us in the end. The reset that was part of him leaving benefits us today.

How crazy is it that everyone on this board cheered it on when it happened and bitched about Moffitt for a couple years. Everyone blamed him for the lack of toughness of our team for years. Revisionist History is our super power here on TR

Lots of LSU Tigers got shoved and bullied while TM was here.

I remember lsu being better conditioned than other teams in the 4th quarter in Kelly’s first year. Then it all came apart. Not sure what happened.

Not crazy at all time for a fresh start. 2020 & 2021 wasn’t his best work

Not crazy at all at the time. The program was in a tailspin, and we needed stability. He seemed to be someone who could bring that.

BKs initial staff decisions doomed him. If Freeman and Rees come, along with retaining Blake and Moffitt, we would have had another natty

I thought the tiger rant was overwhelmingly for letting Tommy Moffitt go?

To be honest our special teams collapsed in that game plus as usual we couldn’t contain a running QB. I don’t see how moffit was responsible for either. Sorry.

Nobody is talking about why we lost the game; we’re talking about how the Aggies came into Tiger Stadium and had LSU players quivering in fear all game.

Never would have seen that in even the worst of Orgeron/Miles teams.
