Hot take. The fact Brian Kelly has not won a natty yet is a good thing.

Kelly is more likely to win 2 than he is none in my eyes. He’s going all in. It’s the one thing missing from his storied career. He’s coaching here 7-9 more years and going out with 2 Titles. I’m all bought in on this season and sold. Title Town.

I think Kelly would retire if he won a natty, I don't think he likes the new way of doing business in CFB based on some of the things he's said.

Hot take. He hasn’t won one yet and how long has he been in CFB?
Is he supposed to be getting better the older he gets?

Winning a title in football is as much about where you coach as it is about how good of a coach you are. There are some marginal coaches with titles and some elite coaches without one. For most of his career he was not at the right place at the right time.

Yes.

That’s how life works, you know. The more times you do something, the better you get at it. It’s the whole theory behind practicing, by the way.

He’s getting old and cares more about golfing.

What has he said to give you that impression? Not saying you’re off but I feel like he’s embraced it. He’s a guy with a vision and a plan to execute it. He’s adjusted and it’s rolling now and I feel he’s out in-front of it having fun.

I think he’s more likely to retire before his contract is up especially if he wins a title.

Nothing because he’s not going to openly say that he’s going to retire if he wins a natty.

He’s embraced it because he has had to. His original plan/vision was not what he’s doing right now.

You're not wrong. Saban had a 34-24 record at Mich St and 0-3 bowl record before coming to LSU. It took LSU's resources and an all-star of coaches and admin to launch Saban to elite status and he then recreated that at Bama after a lackluster NFL coaching stint. Then there's Les and O. Les was a pretty good coach at OK St, but certainly not elite and O was a good interim coach at USC and disaster at Ole Miss.

As for Kelly, he's all in to win a natty at LSU because this is his final chance to cement his legacy. Then there's the fact that the last 3 coaches at LSU won 1 and the pressure is even greater.

This is our hope. We'll see if it actually happens. From a pragmatic point of view, I can see both sides of fans who think he will and think he won't. One of those groups will garner more support after the Clemson game.

Bingo he is well paid for average results and is in no way on a hot seat as his buyout is guaranteed.
Woody doing dumb things over and over. Don’t care about WBB/Baseball etc that’s stuff is nice window dressing but FB pays all the bills. He wasted his first title with O imploding and now is hoping things work out for BK. Bk doesn’t win this year which that is a huge “IF” next year is a total rebuild with new QB and new Defense. So BK/staff better be all in until mid January!

I understand your point, but also think he's invested so much to reposition LSU's program for this era, I can see him sticking around and trying to win more than one. At his level, it's one thing to be a NC championship coach, it's something else entirely to have multiple NCs. 18 coaches have won multiple NCs, only four in the last forty years or so. He'd also be the only LSU coach to win multiple NCs at LSU.

Having said that, let's get the first one.

The problem is Kelly is not a big game coach. He just doesn’t win the big games. Nearly every big game he coaches in with something meaningful on the line, he loses. And loses bad. SEC title game. CFB playoff games. BCS National Title game.

The reality IQ of some posters is mind boggling! It's not a video game, or movie or Harry Potter. Success is work and perseverance. Clearly something missing from some of you.
