Jerry Stovall was one hell of a safety too. This guy was a great tiger even though this coaching career wasn't the best. He still stood up for LSU after the Bo Rein tragedy and everyone should be grateful for that.
Jerry has given way more to LSU than he ever got back. He is one of the all-time greats for this alone. This man should mentioned in the same breath as Billy Cannon.

I he has a very strong argument to being #1
Was very impactful as a freshman
Was the best player in the country as a sophomore
And the impact of him not being on the team as a junior is very under appreciated. I think we win the SEC and at least play for a title if he doesn’t get dismissed.

I would say he has the most game impacting plays per snaps taken ever on CFB.

I can make an argument that TM7 was the best defensive player in CFB history.
The dick riding of this dude is insane
We truly have some of the worst fans in college football

I mean his sophomore season as a cb and punt returner was probably the most impactful from a defensive player of all time, and that’s even with being suspended a game. If we’re talking college football career, then yeah others had better careers, but his impact his sophomore season was as high as any defensive back EVER.

3 at least only because of how short his career was
his 2011 season is a top 1/1 defensive season
his 2011 season is a top 1/1 defensive season

I think top 3 is real safe…..there is real discussion that he should be top 1
Posted on 7/23/25 at 8:38 pm to geaux2019
The fact that we know he's Top 3 at worst and we didn't even get him for his junior year? Pretty sure that's #1

Pound for pound hands down the best.
Watch the punt returns bd UGA in the 2011 secg. Like a kid outrunning all the other kids in the streets.
