This was such a high upside draft pick for the 6th round. Was shocked no one took a chance on him in the 4th or 5th.

That’s my thought. Too much talent to fall that far unless people were just really concerned about his effort. He loafed a lot here on plays. Doesn’t seem to be the case now.

Hell yeah Perk! Sucks that he’s balling out for the falcons though.

Amazing what some real coaching will do

Blake Baker has done an excellent job with linebackers since he’s been here this stint and the first.

Really happy for him but also embarrassed for us.
It’s like we almost ruined this kids career with zero clue on how to get him prepared for the next level

He seems pretty prepared to me.

As soon as the Falcons drafted him I knew he would be a thorn in the Saints’ side for years to come. Ugh

Did you not see the OP? Seems to be the most prepared of any LB drafted.

More not used to his full potential than “ruining him”. Really just the gripe of not allowing him to rush the passer from the outside or spy like he did his freshman season. He was a good LB who could’ve been great.

I love teams that draft LSU players. That way they can stick it to teams that don’t.

I guess you count Barion Brown as a Kentucky player then

Brian Kelly wasted Perkins' talent while at LSU. Same situation as Danielle Hunter while at LSU, and became a monster DE and carved out a highly successful career in the NFL. Perkins is on a very similar track as Danielle Hunter.

Who would most be responsible for that in your opinion? Honest question.
