Even Orgeron admitted the defense needs to be fixed. I'm glad he doesn't think everything's "fine". We're going to need them to be much better than this.

Coach O got furious with the defense during the game a number of times. we'll see if it's addressed hopefully.

We should give some credit to Texas. Their offensive line was very physical. They pushed Georgia around also remember. Sam E is better than advertised and both of those 6, 6 receivers are very good.

But sitting in the stands last night I wondered why we were staying in a base defense playing containment. It wasn't working. It just wore the d out instead. There never were stunts or disguised blitzes (except a few times in the 2nd quarter). I'm a huge Aranda fan but would be curious to hear him talk about game plan and lack of adjustments

But all things considered that was a playoff level win on the road in a hot stadium against a really good team.

Can someone explain to me why we always talk about a defense getting gassed when it’s on the field so long yet the opposing teams offense is on the field just as long yet does not get fatigued?

Texas had the ball for close to 35 minutes versus 25 for the good guys. They also dinked and dunked, so d played many more plays.

As great of talent LSU has there is no excuse for D.B.U to give up 500 yards of offense and Alabama will be the best team we play by far!

It's game 2. By the end of the year Texas will have validated their offensive legitimacy. This was supposed to be their coming out party. They played like their lives were on the line.

A better run game, better rotations and tackling would have made a world of difference. I think we could have trusted our corners more in tighter man coverage, but other than that I'm not sure what else could have been done.

The pressure complaints are dumb af. We sacked this kid 5 times and he is elusive as hell, climbs the pocket like a pro, and is hard to bring down.

Oh and this was the SECOND game of the season!!

And the first 60-minute game for our starting Defense. Taking into account that, and being on the road in 100 degree heat index. I think we will be fine.

Texas’ offense played the same 19 plays and they didn’t cramp

Nope 2 min drives lead to this type of D. See Bama giving up 500 and 40 it’s just the pace of play, and we have now joined in. I’m not real happy about it.

Defense is fine as long as it isnt gassed. If they get in that situation again all bets are off.

It was 20-7 at half but I was still concerned bc our offense let Texas drive every series in 1st half but one...Chaisson stunted and sacked ehlinger. We scored. I though DA might have seen how a blitz and stunt resulted in a 3 and out but apparently he loved his gameplan and then the 19 play drive happened. Texas had tons of momentum and the d was gassed. Kind of hard to make changes at that point but it’s on Aranda to not let opposing qb stand in the pocket for 5 seconds which makes our defenders run and cover even longer.

5 sacks says otherwise. Ehlinger is big, strong, and pretty illusive. He’s just a damn good QB, with great receivers. This is likely the best offense we will face in the regular season. We have some things to fix. But some of you are overreacting.

Was the defense gassed at the beginning of the 3rd quarter?
