I disagree.

Nabors running out of back of the endzone during his route, running the wrong route twice in a row, falling down. He struggles with timing routes.

Dropped passes by everyone not names Taylor.

Even his shots downfield were dropped after hitting receivers in the hands.

Not knowing what to do when they actually do catch the ball. They made Terrible plays after catch. He'll, Nabors first instinct seems to be to bounce backwards two yards before trying to run up the field.

That is what interrupts the flow.

It's sad that I trust our rbs and TEs to catch the ball more than our receivers.

Will he settle in by year 10? You do realize this is his 5th year as a starting QB?

He is who he is, same as myself and many other said last year.

He should have never been allowed to transfer into LSU after being a below average starter at ASU except for maybe his freshman year.

What a waste of talent bringing this guy has caused. You lose Howard plus you lose two years of valuable time as the starter for Nuss if Brennan does still decide to hang up his cleats last year and Nuss gets the rock.

Going into this year you would have Nuss with a full year of starting under his belt and great relationship on field and off between him and our great WRs.

I was expecting improvement by JD and seeing him hit the quick timing routes and not holding on to the ball, not dropping his eyes and looking to run

Respectfully bunk dat!

LSU fans are not incorrect for calling the dude out for poor play with misleading stats.

Dude is a 5th year starter, had an entire offseason to improve gel with coaches/teammates and all that goes with that including benefit of the doubt.

Dude is not good, as a starting qb for LSU. He's like freaking (Danny Etling.) <-- Defend the run let the receivers run wild no fear deeper than 10 or so yards.

JD5 is a situational wildcat qb that would better serve LSU running 80% of the time he touches the ball and occasionally tossing it 10 yards to a receiver/te leaking out into the flat.

I wanted to give Daniels a chance but he still isn't much better than he was last year.

He was good at hitting that comeback route to Nabers but was late on a lot of throws and consistently underthrows anything downfield.

He also seems to be a very happy go lucky kid which is great, I just think you have to have some fire when you're the leader of the team, especially when you're a 5th year senior. JD just sat on the sidelines looking stunned when things started going south last night.

And as others have said, the offense becomes all JD5 with the other players just watching him.

I think he's a good but not great quarterback and he keeps hitting that ceiling. I also think his skillset makes the coaches get too cute with all of those plays where he has a read option and an RPO built into one.

I would like to see Nuss get a shot, simplify things and let LSU's receivers stretch the field then pound the ball downhill in the running game but we all know that isn't going to happen.

That's the problem. It really all starts and ends with Daniels. Passer and runner and he literally has no help on the run end. He is the run game.

So much of his run game comes from the pass game where protection breaks down and he is forced to become creative.

Mauck was a mediocre QB with pure grit; strung together with sheet metal and bailing wire.

I love how we diminish certain players abilities to make em seem like some “little engine that could”. Mauck was a good athlete who could run and also had a live arm.

He was also frickup prone, even during 03 when he had a 2 TO to 1 TD ratio against ranked opponents. To his credit, he shook off some of those mistakes and made winning plays.

You know what else he had in 03? Either the best or second best defense in LSU history (depending on who you ask). We don’t have anything close to that at the moment.

JD5yds is a problem, but not as much of a problem as Matt take-it-to-the House

I saw the same JD5 last night as I saw last year. I think FSU figured that out at halftime and decided to stop the run because JD didn't throw anything over twenty yards down the field. Dink and Dunks and the one shot over the top severely under thrown to a wide open Thomas. Jaden is like a zebra you aren't changing those stripes. Doesn't scan the field and if it ain't there haul a$$ with his head down. Played right into FSU's plan.

100%. I remember of that first possession where he tried to hit Nabers in the back of the EZ yet he had BTJ wide open in a slant.

It was a perfect example of how he plays, pure instinct and no thinking.

While he gets beat up? The offensive line was getting their shite pushed in last night. Daniels at least has escape ability.

When Nuss hits receivers, the other team adjusts and then our running game turns from non existent back to existent again. We saw it last year. I really don’t get why the coaches don’t realize this. I hated that Daniels was coming back from day one of his announcement because I feared this would happen. Just didn’t think it would come up in game one. I thought he’d do a “fell back into old habits” type thing. He flat out never left it.

It's odd to me seeing all the Daniels hate after that game last night. Daniels is the least of my concerns. The major issues were on the defensive side of the ball. We just got punched in the mouth and bullied in the 2nd half by a better team. Having Maason back will help. That is a really good FSU team, so I don't think the season is lost yet.

1. That was probably the best defensive line LSU will face.

2. Jayden often gets into trouble because the ball doesn't come out on time.

3. FSU was rolling players into the box and putting their corners on an island because they didn't respect the deep passing game.

I'm not saying the offensive line didn't get pushed around at times but it likely wouldn't have looked the same.

How can he get the team involved if the starting wrs are from UL and can’t catch a pass while the rest are middle to bottom tier sec wrs that won’t make a play. Also the starting rb is a walk-on that wouldn’t sniff the 3 deep on a les miles team. If we had JD during miles tenure we would be sitting on a couple more championships IMO.
