The staff found out he flipped when they saw the Periscope of his high school's ceremony.

That is the issue that people have.

the man tries to win games and give nothing about your opinion, not telling if a player will play or not is part of the game. it prevents teams from scheming against you. why you don't get that is beyond me. it is not even comparable to suggesting a family and kid deceive a school during the recruitment. sorry this is hard for you to understand and sorry miles hurt your feelings.

So that kind of lying is ok. Just the other kind you object to. Got it. Good deal. Way to have a strong moral compass. If that's how you feel, then you obviously can't have a problem with what Strong did because he doesn't give a shite about you and is just trying to win games. That makes it all ok. Other teams can't scheme for his recruiting strategy.

Once again, point me to the dishonest part...

You tell me what part of this is not dishonest? You telling recruits that have all given their verbal commitment to other schools to keep their word and their commitment to only change it in the 11th hour on NSD to Texas? What fricking part of that you don't understand about being dishonest? Good God I hate to see the morals you live by!

I pray Fowler falls straight on his fricking arse, karma is a mother fricker! Strong may have pulled this bullshite off this year but he is done with this game because any recruit now that is even sniffing Texas will be scrutinized beyond belief.

You're telling me that the LSU coaching staff was 100% confident from a mere verbal commitment from a kid who committed over 6 months or so ago and still hasn't signed?

Oh yeah, he also happens to live 10 miles away from another major university's football program.

Actually, I'm just kind of amazed you don't understand how a syllogism works.

Well he did reaffirm his commitment just a few days earlier

but no, they were not 100% confident, don't know where you got that from

Fowler was the only recruit that was "committed" to another school. Every other recruit they signed was "uncommitted". I blame it more on Fowler than Texas...

I feel maximum butt hurt. Is this where I come to express it?

Seriously, this is a tempest in a teapot guys. Recruiting is serious business, especially for guys that are in cratering programs like Strong. His back is against the wall. Fowler made his choice and he'll be just fine playing for Texas. Take the long view and cut Coach O loose in the Austin area next year and profit. That's all. Just live and learn. No need to melt.

What in the bluehell does this fricking mean? Yesterday was the first time anyone could sign. So, if you don't understand that, you basically don't get how any of this works, and your position now makes sense in that it is coming from a place of ignorance.

It sucks that we got burned by this approach with Fowler, but just looking at this from Strong's perspective I thought it was brilliant. Now, hopefully we wreck that shite when we play them in 2019, 2020.

so miles and myself have a low moral compass because we both agree to not divulge the status of the player
you are aware some colleges have internal policy not to divulge injuries. I guess you don't

Maybe. They still have issues at QB and some serious depth problems on the o-line (Charlie let lots of players go a few years back because they lacked the integrity he requires of his players)

The new OC is a good one but Strong is out of time. If he misses a bowl again, he's gone. He's literally run out of support.

Fowler confirmed his commitment to LSU during the week to the coaches. In Strong's case he was practicing plausible deniability.

He may have very well known that Fowler was flipping to UT, but because Fowler, himself, had not told him then Strong could saiy, I didn't know. And it is how Strong set it up, according to the article. Strong even went so far as to tell recruits if they waited until national signing day, the could "do backflips" at their ceremonies. What Strong did and encouraged the recruits and their families to do was not illegal, but is was less than honest.

By signed I mean signing and faxing in his papers. He's going into a hat ceremony. It's not like Miles strolled into the office and at 7:05 am he's got a fax coming in from Fowler.

What committed recruit goes into a hat ceremony and sticks with that team?

But honesty is the top thing he prides himself on.
