So we are all just going to ignore the receiver was out of bounds with 6 seconds left

Because it's irrelevant. Keep arguing it though if it makes you feel better.

You must've been watching another game clock then.

Without having tenths of seconds on the clock, we will never know if there were 3 or more seconds on the clock. I am assuming that college football does not put tenths up for a reason. Therefore, I will conclude that the refs got this call right since Mond did get the spike off in time and the clock read 0:03 before the play.

How is it irrelevant when we are attacking the refs for making a bad call?

They made an even worse one right before that BENEFITED LSU...

...but keep on with your blind devotion I guess

Key parts:

quote:

with three or more seconds remaining in the quarter

quote:

the offense may
reasonably expect to throw the ball directly to the ground

quote:

Late in a quarter Team A, out of timeouts, makes a first down, stopping the clock which reads 0:03

quote:

The quarterback takes the snap and raises the ball high over his head before throwing it directly to the ground. The game clock shows 0:00.
This did not happen.
quote:

there is no guarantee of enough time to run an additional play other than spiking the ball. The offense must execute the spike in a timely manner.
AtM apparently did. Nothing supports your position at all.

Was his knee down there before the elbow?

the clock starts and stops on the signal from the referee to the official time keeper. Meaning, the ball has to be snapped, spiked and then time stoppage signaled by the referee to the time keeper ... the replay shows the clock expired before stoppage was signaled.

In the end, it's one of the several ways we got hosed in College Station like an A&M Cadet on a Friday night.

You bring up some good points on timing during the game though, as did YA Tittle. The game is timed lazily for 58 minutes, but the last minute in each half is expected to be precise without the tools needed to be precise.

The game clock ran to zero. The refs put the second back on the clock.

Nope. He’s lunging toward the sideline and his elbow went out.

That’s why this whole discussion is pointless unless y’all just want to debate the rule itself outside of some anti-ref LSU conspiracy

The worst call of the night was the first down ruling on the 4th and 16 play

This is being ignored. The game was over.

Zoom in on the snapshot - you can clearly see his whole torso is above the ground

ben, they reviewed the play, and there was still time on the clock when he spiked it...therefore, there was greater than 0:00 on the clock and they should get another play.

Based on the NCAA's interpretation of its own rule, time should have expired after the spike. My guess is that the SEC did not even consider this rule and just checked to see if Mond had snapped it before time expired.

Posts like this make LSU fans look stupid.

Not being a dick, but how is this different from JJ and Ole Miss?

I don’t honestly remember how much time was left.
