So WHY exactly are we supposed to win this game?

It is amazing how some can even survive with their negativity. Either you need your soul blessed or brain surgery.
I mean frick why don't we just play White and cause the powers that be to make us forfeit the whole darn thing. Heck, just cancel the rest of the season and crown them.
Why do you have to engage in hyperbole?
You don't think Bama fans are positive too? That's not a reason why we'll win, because we're more positive.

You do realize most college players only play significant snaps for two or three years and there are many at a given time that it’s their first year doing so? Very few players even played in the 2015 game. LSU has played in at least 4 “big” games this year.
Also that “shite” QB from Miami got his job back.

Because it's destiny and God has gotten tired of Bama's shite.

Because we must, because tuna is going to get banged up and not finish the game

2 pages of posts. Not 1 logical or even rational answer.
Yet Rouge is the dumbass?

Has Alabama played much of anyone this year? No, they have not. That doesn't mean that they have not played quality competition in years past and don't know what competition looks like.
This argument is facile. This team is different than years past. Their QB is a sophomore who has had exactly one half of experience in an adverse environment. Tell yourself whatever you want, but that makes a difference.
Also, their defense is just not as good as in years past.

we don't have the deep passing game to exploit any speed in the passing game.
This is just absolutely not true. We average 12.87 ypc. That's not lighting the world on fire, but it is more than adequate.

Now to the biggest issue of RED ZONE OFFENSE. It sucks. It just does. Why will that change now. We have not been holding back. We might be able to pull out some cute plays, but we saw how that worked for Georgia. We have to be on our top game, with some innovative misdirection play calling, in order to smash mouth with the Tide near the goal line.
Again. You're either misinformed or you're just outright lying. LSU is tied for 17th in RZ offense. Bama ranks 74.
quote:
Our defense is good. Damn solid. Strong men of whom I am proud to say represent LSU. We have to be real again. What Bama is rolling out there is serious next level talent. Never in Saban's tenure has an offense been so potent. The line blocks (read holds) the receivers have after burners up their arse, and Irv Smith, Jr. could be our biggest matchup nightmare out at TE. Seriously, who is going to cover him?
You're basing your assumptions of Bama's strength on their performance vs garbage defenses. Bama's opponents rank as follows in yards allowed:
-Mizzou: 90th
-Arkansas: 94th
-Texas A&M: 99th
-Tennessee: 100th
-Ark. State: 107th
-Ole Miss: 108th
-Louisville: 109th
-ULL: 119th
Tell me, do you think the offense will be similarly successful against this defense?
Also, why are you neglecting to mention Bama's mediocre special teams vs our SUPERB special teams? Is 1/3 of the game of football not important in your "analysis?"
Let me lay it out so you can have some objective, statistically-based analysis to look at:
Offense: Advantage Bama (S&P+ rank: Bama #1, LSU 67)
Defense: Advantage LSU (S&P+ rank: LSU #8, Bama #20)
Special Teams: Advantage LSU (S&P+ rank: LSU #3, Bama #92)
Strength of Schedule: HUGE advantage LSU (Sagarin rank: LSU #6, Bama #60)
So, you see, based on their actual performance vs SIGNIFICANTLY better competition, LSU actually performs better on defense AND special teams than does Bama.
That's exactly WHY we are supposed to win, chicken little.

Help me Rant - So WHY exactly are we supposed to win this game?
We aren't supposed to win.
Where we can equalize this game is getting out to a fast start which we have most of the season. Also Aranda has to disguise his coverages and throw Tua off. We need to not only win turnovers, but probably need a +2. Burrow will need to make some plays running. I know we don't want him hurt, but this is not the game to pull punches. Lastly is the kicking game. FG, kick off and punting has been a strength and it needs to continue. If these happen we have a decent shot.

We caught Georgia on a seriously bad day.
I take issue with this statement.
UGA was giving up 280yds a game and we had 475yds offense.
UGA led the SEC in rushing at over 240yds a game and managed a little over 100yds.
Fromm was completing around 70% of his passes and was under 50%.
Fromm said Aranda gave him D looks he had never seen. This wasn't chance or a mistake. We outcoached and outplayed them. Good teams make other teams have a "bad day".

You people need help. There are logical answers on how we can win a...s!
1)we are tested. they are not. They have not yet been punched in the mouth..we have. We are more proven battle tested, they are not. How are they going to respond when we hit them hard? Don't think that matters then there is nothing to discuss.
2) our NFL caliber DBs have the ability to neutralize their WRS.
3)They will try to run and take advantage of us not having White in 1st half. But here are the X factors - Phillips and using Stevens in specific packages.
4) Bama does not fare well vs. RPO schemes. See long run vs UGA by Burrow. Mond did well vs them in the running game. Mond would have done better if had seen three open WRs who he could have completed passes to for a TD and two key 3rd down conversions.
4) Mental intangibles with all of the lack of respect from media and general public fueling the fires of motivation definitely in LSU's favor.
5) Arrogance from complacent winners have been some of the underlying reasons for many an upset.
Those are five and given more time I could think of some more. So there you go!

You seem to not understand teh difference between the question "Why" and the question "How".
You are trying to ask "How" we might win.
