Me too. Was your daughter the one in the red jersey, the voodoo girl or the hotshots girl?

As far as camps go he was WAYYY more hands on than any other camp. LSU was a joke. LSUE was decent. My daughter really liked him. I felt like he was a preacher at times.

Yes he’s a great hitting instructor

What’s his philosophy? Level swing , swing up or in between ? He better be great because he gonna see a league that he has never seen on a consistent basis, it’s one thing to do one off games it’s another when the best pitching coaches in the country plan for you all week. It’s a total different world but he seems like a smart guy so I’m sure he will figure it out. One thing I’m interested in is the culture piece because his teams are structured, very disciplined, military like and that ain’t Mike W style. In fact, it’s a world apart from that

The best hitting coaches adapt to the player imo.

Yes sir but most have certain beliefs, like Oklahoma swings straight up where LSU swings flatter as does Florida

Both are true.
I also learned as a head coach that you don't try to fix what ain't broke even if their mechanics are different than what I like. Too many times, I had players go to Division I schools where the hitting coaches tried to change their hitting styles to fit the coaches' philosophies.
I asked one coach why he recruited my player only to change (and screw her up) her hitting mechanics.

Why didn't you answer me? I saw him pay a little extra attention to those 3 kids. I noticed them each getting two rounds of live. Was yours one of those 3?

He’s not taking Gonzales recruit with him. If there happens to be an opening on roster it’s a possibility. But as of now she’s staying in Hammond.

How good is Mickey Winchell out of Notre Dame?
Posted on 6/18/26 at 3:21 pm to Relham10
"Winchell started all 53 games in center field this past season for the Irish. She hit .335 and led the team with 59 hits, four doubles, two triples and a homer. She started all four years, dating back to 2023 when she earned ACC All-Freshman honors. She got off to a hot start in 2025 before her season was cut short by injury. Winchell can play all three outfield positions, but could likley be the successor to the graduated Jalia Lassiter."
