but Kylee. Every one is saying,"Well, you would have gone for the most money also". What they don't realize is that Kylee put out a post - not two weeks ago - saying she is coming back and is the happiest she has ever been.

So, we thought we had a starting SS and now we have to start looking for a starting SS. She knew she would bolt if she received 10 more cents from any school, yet, posted the opposite. That hurt LSU.

At least the other girls let the staff know in a timely manner and didn't lie about coming back next year.

Kylee has earned her opportunity to advance and do what she wants. She got better and helped LSU and walked the walk on the field this year. Tori Edwards pissses me off more than Kylee. You were a disappointment now your crying arse is walking after being a disappointment.

You are right that Kylee was better than Tori, but at least Tori let the coaching staff now that she was going to enter the portal in a timely manner. She didn't lie about coming back and being the happiest she has ever been to be here.

If you want to transfer, transfer. But, don't try to hold on to a spot then bolt at the snap of a finger. That puts the coaching staff at a disadvantage to get someone to replace you.

The moral of the story is recruit better kids with higher values and parents with higher values. Multiple players at Oklahoma were rumored to be going in the portal and only 1did just happens to be the 1 that PG sent home for a week. What do you have to do to get sent back to Houston for a week?

This is part of the deal with going to Texas Tech. The 3B from Tennessee did the same shite last year.

ETA: They do this shite in the most unsavory way possible and anytime they get called out on it they just say people are jealous of the money. It's nouveau riche to a fricking tee.

You guys kinda have a circular argument, you say on 1 hand Beth a bad coach but then get mad when she develops players that get bought. News flash Tori had 2 major offers and only 1 sec offer (LSU) yet she got developed into AA then she got heavy and quit working and had a tough yr. Kylee best offer out of hs was miss st.. career .280 hitter and then comes to LSU and gets developed in to 1st team all SEC player hit 60 points higher than her avg and gets bought. So, how is Beth a bad coach again? It ain’t her fault Verge won’t give her 3.5 million like Tech gets for their roster. BTW, the 1st question a high level coach gonna ask is how much NIL is dedicated to softball and when Verge says 200k they will laugh and say no thanks

It's not the high school recruits that are a problem. We had the number 1 ranked recruits. It's the ones that are in the program for 1 or 2 or 3 years then jump at anything that moves.

Well a bunch did this yr for sure and only 4 will have places to go, the others haven’t found a place yet. The ones that left last yr how many made a regional? Walker was humiliated 35-2 or something like that

I think it is totally fair that people are not motivated to donate NIL to softball, it has been stagnant and uninspiring program for almost a decade, that stagnation began before NIL became what it is today, it is what it is

I think if you want more NIL at this point you will have to inject new blood into the program. You will have to guage interest and go to donors that are already fatigued and say, hey if we make this move can you help us put together an NIL package

might be best to wait until her contract expires at this point to give donors a breather, not sure there is much you can realistically do to improve the program immediately

Was Edwards really developed or was it natural progression? She made about the same jump from Freshman to Sophomore year (269/290/335) How did Lorenz develop (361/259)? Oh she came from Louisville not apples to apples. Ok, what about Hutchins from Kentucky (246/285/215)? Big Dropoff. Hodge, Oklahoma, had good progression from Freshman to Jr year, then 2nd year in program, big dropoff (261/284/313/209). So I’ll stick to my opinion that no she is not a good coach.
It’s upsetting that Kylee will leave, but mad at her for bettering herself, not me. Isn’t that why you go to college?
Again, if Beth hadn’t driven this program to mediocrity, she may not be in this situation but she has and here we are.

Hodge was never a good hitter never, her jr yr was a fluke with no credit given, what about Lassiter and Franklin..(btw a 60 point jump over career avg is not natural progression) I guess no credit, natural progression. So when someone goes down coaches get the blame but when they do good it’s the players . You sound like the players that left lololol . I tend to think credit and blame are always shared

Franklin played 2 games last year and hitting 282 is not a world beater so I will hold judgment to see how she progresses. Lassiter (287/314/324/340) is the definition of natural progression. And I would say her biggest jump was Freshman to Sophmore year at Ole Miss. Maybe we should thank them for developing her.
Just when I thought you were seeing the light, you have flip flopped once again. Must be your hormones.

I’m just arguing coaches share blame and credit and it’s not a one way street. I still maintain you must get 3-4 portal starters or long yr.

All of the Rick Fremin from Southeastern can stop now...

It was just posted that he will be an assistant coach at the University of Texas at Austin.

No, I don't know J6, but checking his history, he doesn't seem like someone that would jump into a thread to make accusations just to get attention.

I know for a fact that Beth would not be fired right now. However, I can see - especially with today's news - her getting frustrated with NIL and the girls telling her one thing and doing the exact opposite. Or, Beth going to Verge and saying, "I need this much money for the program NIL" and Verge saying "no".

Those things can happen and she just says, "I've had enough of this." and resign or retire.

I know most people want her gone, but this is the absolutely worse time - especially with the Freshman coming in. This would not be good news for me because of the timing.
