i will give TT this much. at least they are dead serious about softball and wanna be elite. LSU just worried about the big 3 and baseball doesn't even make a profit anymore.

I guess the question will be, moving forward, can the coaching staff integrate the incoming class and back-fill the needed positions to complete a competitive roster?

You completely missed my point. I am not knocking anybody for donating anything. Im simply pointing out that small donations aren't going to keep LSU on pace with what Texas Tech is doing. And you can't kick and scream about not making it as far as them whenever we aren't playing on a equal playing field. And I am 100% perfectly fine not being on an equal playing field in softball.
Just look at what teams TT is pulling players from last year. Its big time players from big programs. This year is just happened to be from LSU.

Hopefully, it is a "plug in" portal starter and not another High School Freshman that will sit on the bench - when they make it to campus in two years - then transfer after sitting the bench that year while Beth talks about how great they are going to be when they play.

You’re missing the point that IF Beth was a good coach and was more competitive, SEC champs, WCWS participants in the last 9 years, she would probably have more support…players not wanting to leave… able to get players to come in this year.
But she hasn’t and she has driven this vehicle to where it is. Nobody else has Head Coach next to their name.

Lonni Almeda, Karen Weekly, and Tim Walton are great coaches and they got high level players poached.

It’s easy to see what happened, Torres commits to Texas the next day Edwards decommits after saying 2 weeks ago it is the greatest place on earth. It’s hard to blame Beth when she getting several hundred thousand from TT

I don't blame Beth for Kylee leaving. You never know what liars will do.
I blame Beth for doing absolutely nothing in the portal after having 9 players transfer - including several starters.
It looks like she just wants to rely on the supposedly number 1 freshman class to make up most of the starting positions. That's a bold move. Let's see if that strategy will work in the SEC.
She proved me wrong this season, so maybe she will prove me wrong with this crap.

I saw they got 1 today and I would imagine they will be getting others but agree she will give a few of the freshies an opportunity to win jobs. I don’t know about all of them but the Tuua kid was wanted by everyone in the country and throws 72-73 and can hit for power. We will see how fast she can adapt but she would be the number 1 portal pitcher if she could have went in…she that good

so which one do you want? you don't want lsu to outbid someone because you dont want players that are just about the money? if so you can't bitch and complain about getting no one in the portal because they would be coming here just for money. maybe this freshman class comes in and loves lsu so much they stay here all four years and money is never an issue. who knows? i know that i dont know and i know that you dont know. the only think that is evident is that you really dislike torina and will basically throw any argument out there bashing her even if you contradict yourself in the process. in just about every post you've made in this topic you include some backhanded comment towards torina. the fact is that there really isnt anything that she can do to combat the things that are being done around the country as far as money is concerned. its a simple as that.

Exactly this. For months all we heard is his dumb arse prediction in every thread. That turned out to be wrong, so he got quiet until he had his next reason to bitch. Now he found it, so here we are.

Nope. Torina did a great job this year. Don't hate her. If she has a good year next year (at least a break even SEC record), I would extend her contract. I just think she does just enough to keep her job. That will not get you back into the World Series.
In the portal, I want a combination of money and love of LSU IF they have more than one year eligibility. If they only have one year, then, yes, it is all about the money I guess. Just don't overspend.
My biggest complaint today is not Beth, but Kylee. Every one is saying,"Well, you would have gone for the most money also". What they don't realize is that Kylee put out a post - not two weeks ago - saying she is coming back and is the happiest she has ever been.
So, we thought we had a starting SS and now we have to start looking for a starting SS. She knew she would bolt if she received 10 more cents from any school, yet, posted the opposite. That hurt LSU.
At least the other girls let the staff know in a timely manner and didn't lie about coming back next year.
