Seems the question should be part of portal application paperwork. Do you have any pending or possible penalties or suspensions that might affect your ability to play for your future team?
Similar to non-disclosure or non-compete clauses in employment.

you are aware that there are set in stone written rules with penalties for playing a suspended player, right?
Forfeit game
player's suspension is doubled
head coach receives an equal suspension to the new doubled player's suspension.
so play him and we forfeit (not vacate) the game.
Haulcy and Kelly both suspended for entirety of next game.

Damn that would be fantastic. LSU will find a big payday game no matter what. Houston’s biggest OOC game this year is @ Oregon State.
Only problem is trying to replace a required P4 OOC on somewhat short notice. Also I guess there could be a breakup fee. Still, it would be petty and I love it.

it is in the portal paperwork linked in another thread on this topic.

the 1st response on page 4 of the thread. it's like the top question on the form.

We're talking about a sport the vast majority of college sports fans care about, not college baseball.

This is such a lazy take.
No, it’s really not. The entity with the most to lose, is the entity the onus is on. LSU is not only the entity with the most to lose, it’s the only entity with ANYTHING to lose. When Jeff Bezos marred that thot recently, whose responsibility was it to make sure there was a prenup? You always prepare for the worst case scenario.
And Haulcy isn’t just any old transfer, Clemson isn’t just any old team, and this isn’t just any old game. Haulcy may wind up being the transfer who is biggest difference maker on the entire defense. And he will be especially important tomorrow in both the passing game by giving our corners help over the top covering Clemson’s 3 really good WRs, and maybe more importantly, coming up and making stops in the running game, particularly on Klubnik. Dude is a tackling machine and big-time playmaker.
I don’t think “the staff” OP alludes to is Kelly and his on-field coaching staff, though. It’s everyone else who works in football ops and the entire athletic department. Kelly has too much other stuff to worry about. But he should have at least told somebody to make sure all the transfers were eligible. It should be part of the process.

Of course we still should have recruited Haulcy

2. Notified the NCAA? Same effect as you have now.
There’s some ambiguity here. You don’t want to notify them and call attention to it. However, you have to know it’s possible—if not probable—that Clemson would. So an argument could be made that getting clarity on it would have been better than taking our chances. Because we would have prepared differently. (I think).
Let me explain. BK and staff have been very upfront with just how differently they prepared for this game relative to other season openers. Not just the focus off the field in the weight room, locker room, etc…but also with how they practiced. They worked on Clemson earlier than they have prior opening opponents. Installed game plan earlier, etc…So all those reps Haulcy got with the 1s could have been dispersed differently. Now, we expect him to play the other 23 halfs, so he still probably would have run with the 1s mostly. And he’ll still play the 2nd half, so he needed to run with the 1s against the Clemson scout team too. But we should have already known what our contingency plan would be were this to come to light, whether that’s going to be Spears at FS or Gilbert and repped them there more this week.
However, when I say “I think,” it’s because maybe they did. Our media has a ton more access than most, but it’s not 100%. Maybe they were repping Spears or Gilbert there more when the media wasn’t there. Maybe they have had a contingency plan all along and this has been gamesmanship by BK acting dumb and trying to bait Dabo and Riley into attacking our defense where the FS will have to be more active, all the while we were preparing for it all along. Who knows? I’ll concede I don’t.

Clemson stacked > LSU (more) fricked

Correct.. 100%
Because if Clemson can get clarification in just a few days then ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS ASK.....
We knew he got a UNS in his last game.
If Clemson can ask we should have thought to ask. We know that these fouls get reviewed after the contest.
we manage an 85 man roster and what, 20 transfers... what the hell else are they doing on Nicholson Dr? Jesus
Any blame elsewhere goes right out the window with the logic that by simply asking the question, Clemson got an answer. we never even cared to CHECK!!!

Plenty of people have answered it. You idiots just don't understand that LSU had zero incentive to draw attention to the issue seeing as they didn't know he was suspended.

Little ole Clemson didn't just call the NCAA and ask. They knew. Don't be so stupid and naiive.

I don't "know" they didn't.
but LSU reportedly didn't even know until Wednesday of this week that a suspension was even possible.
if those reports are true, then it is highly unlikely they spent very much time preparing for something they didn't know was possible.
