The flag agaisnt Pickett last night was egregious. He’s been lockdown so far this year he hasn’t given up a catch in man coverage

They will all get a chance contra Ole Piss.

This defense is clearly WAY better than last year.

Have they been really tested, maybe not.

But, in the 6 quarters where the starters played the majority of the snaps, they have given up less than 100 total yards and 3 points (after a turnover deep in our own territory)

That is impressive regardless of the competition.

Turnovers are an issue but we still put up over 500 yards last night. Let’s not act like the offense just complete garbage like last year

I am projecting performance against better than average offenses. Also the LSU offense of last night gets at least four SEC losses. That line looked incompetent

Just like people overreact to destroying Clemson, some are overreacting and in catastrophe mode after a lackluster game that we still won by 31.

Well, if the Tech defense had not thwarted, what, four goal to go situations, then you may have a point. How many unblocked defenders did we see blowup plays behind the LOS?

If they limit them to 24 like last year, we better win the game this time. No excuses for this staff to not put up more points than the clowns from last year did.

Our defense was good last year and this one looks way better at every level particularly DL. We have elite pass rush right now which is not something we had last year.

Something I don't know if you guys have paid attention to but Kiffin has consistently even before the Clemson game said second string defense sucks and we're in trouble if any injuries happen. He said it again last night in post game.

They absolutely suck behind the 1s. Our 1s are probably as good as anyone but our 2s are awful right now. Kiffin said it all through camp they were a problem and he said the same thing about OL. He also made comments about WR all through camp in so many words he wasn't impressed. Now you see why he was trying to get more players to be eligible. He saw it and told us before it happened.

Our 1st string D has given up 3 points and it would be 0 points with not even 100 yards combined offense between 2 games had SL not turned the ball over for an easy 3. I will say Clemson and Tech are awful on offense though but that's still amazing.

We haven’t seen this D vs a mobile QB, yet

I am not concerned. Both teams LSU has seen couldn't run on them. Through 2 games, the defense has allowed a combined 37 yards rushing and 290 total yards. Through two games Chambliss has 62 rushing yards.

Most of those yards given up are from 2nd string D. I don't think even think 1st has given up 100 yards total.

No. Better Olines and QB/RB like at TAMU and OM will tell the tale.

The only thing similar is the W/L record.

We’ll see Saturday. If they continue similar dominance against much better offenses then we have a chance.

An ominous portent if true. I think the o-line is a weak sister

I think this defense has something different. Don’t care who you play, but not allowing a single rushing yard in the first half two weeks ago and giving up only 3 points on a short field is pretty damn impressive.

Nope. This defense is great. And will continue to be as long as they’re healthy. But of course they’re not going to completely shut down better offenses like they have Clemson and Tech. If that’s your standard, you’re an idiot. Especially in 2026 with the way offenses move the ball now. We can give up 300 yards and 20 points next week and still be great.

Brother have you since Prince, Dottery, Ross, Geralds, and Weeks this season? It hasn’t been as much about scheme/coaching the past couple years as much as it’s been about players.. He will have a hard time running with those guys

It will give a lot more visibility on what this defense is.
